I'm curious to see what year the draft pick is in. I was very hopeful that Holland had the foresight to stockpile draft picks for the following draft which it seems that he has done with the 2nd Rd for Smith and 6th Rd for Ott....really hope its a 3rd round for 2018 as well. Then hopefully Florida tanks in 2018 for an even better pick!

Why do people keep saying this? We should be going for as many picks for this year as we can, not next year, unless we're talking 1st rounders.

Because this years draft reportedly sucks......It's actually pretty easy logic to follow. Ya! Let's trade assets for draft picks that are projected to be s*** so we can delay the rebuild process!

Why the hell was holland in such a rush to make this garbage deal? Couldn't of waited till vrbata was gone?

i can't take ken holland anymore , he needs to f***en get lost

Two sides to make a trade. I guess everyone should just wait around until Holland figures out what he's doing..

Come on now..

I'm not a Holland slappy or anything, but reading some comments in this thread is pretty funny. None of us really know what has been going on behind the scenes, any offers he's got and such. Why are we complaining about Holland not waiting long enough? Then if he had waited, we'd be seeing the opposite.

I honestly doubt that there was a better offer out there that he chose to say no, I'll go with this one, instead.

No, the top of the draft sucks, as in no elite players like McDavid, Matthews. The rest of the draft, aka 2nd round and later, is pretty standard. I'd take a 3rd in this years draft every time over a 3rd a year from now...
