ChristopherReevesLegs 7,022 Report post Posted July 7, 2017 They obviously won't all make it to UFA, but this FA class is more loaded than usual. I could see 5 to 7 of these guys hitting FA in 2019. Drew Doughty Erik Karlsson Oliver Ekman-Larsson Ryan McDonagh Ryan Ellis Wayne Simmonds Artemi Panarin Logan Couture Matt Duchene Joe Pavelski Tyler Seguin Max Pacioretty Jason Spezza Mats Zuccarello Jeff Skinner Blake Wheeler Adam Henrique Jakob Silfverberg Derrick Brassard Jordan Eberle Mikko Koivu Too bad Toronto will likely sign all of them
LeftWinger 4,916 Report post Posted July 7, 2017 Too bad we won't sign any of them. Then again, we could be looking at a new GM. It would be awesome to snag Panarin just to rub it in The Hawks face. Too bad without trades, there will be no room.I'd love to land land Panarin, Duchene and Eberle out of that group. Now we're talking reloading! Simmonds is always a great option too! I could see OEL taking his show to Ottawa to play with Karlsson.

jaymac17 10 Report post Posted July 8, 2017 This is on capfriendly armchair gm section under Red Wings named "contending again". I also completed roster makeups for 2017-18 "setting 17-18 roster" and 2018-19 "new era part duex" to show foresight, and preemptive roster management to get us cap space leading up to a +ufa year. Maybe not all perfect moves, but cap compliant, potentially competent rosters and what I think is a decent representation of youth infusion from G.A., retaining roster talent, and making impactful F.A. signings leading to a quick rebuild...oops "retool".Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk2017-18 rosterSent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

About a month ago Karlsson retweeted a tweet from Lebron James about how salary caps are dumb. That pretty much confirms to me he will hit FA and seek a huge contract with us. SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted July 12, 2017 Well in 2019, at this point in time, we'll have the following players under contract: Forwards: Zetterberg Nielsen Abdelkader Helm Glendening Svechnikov Ehn Smith Defense: DeKeyser Ericsson Daley Cholowski Hronek Saarijarvi Obviously, this list will include Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi, and possibly Sheahan & Ouellet. There is also no guarantee that Ehn, Smith, Cholowski, Hronek, and Saarijarvi pan out and are in the lineup, either. I'd be willing to wager that 3 of the 5 are at least starting for us by 2019. We should have the cap, if any of these guys reach, to make a competitive offer on someone. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long to shore up our top defensive pairing, but you never know.
