Goal Horn Devastation

One of my favorite things about the Joe was the goal horn.  I'd turn the volume way up after the Wings scored, I loved it!  

This new horn is awful, absolutely the worst.  I am devastated.

We all loved it. Only "explanation" why they didn't bring the Joe's to LCA found it here

I’m not sure what the technical words are for why they can’t bring it over but it is because the horn at the Joe uses a flammable gas that is against modern code. I guess the horn has a very flammable gas that it uses and it was only allowed to be at the Joe because it was grandfathered in, along with many other against code things at the Joe. Like I said though, the horn is a work in progress and hopefully they get that figured out soon, along with many other things. I know this is disappointing but I can tell you, they are doing everything they can to have a horn like the Joe, it is very important for everybody.

I gotta say -- when you're in the arena the goalhorn sounded just fine to me. Very loud. Not sure how to explain why it is on the tv feed other than maybe that because the horn is digitized and going through the speakers that the tv broadcast is capable of muting the in-stadium audio feed a bit so it doesn't overpower the talking heads? Pure spitballing. But it definitely IS loud in the arena.

Well hopefully it gets better in time, good to hear that it sounds good in the arena.

It sounded like it wanted to be the old horn, but then somebody took all the buttons and pushed them all up to 11 and then recorded it.

sounded like someone recorded the old horn with their phone.. 

also glad to hear it sounds better in the arena.

I think it sounded much better at the arena itself. There was definitely a difference, but it still reminded me of the previous horn.

It is the old horn. Its a recording of the old horn.

A YouTube clip of the Joe's horn would be better than whatever they recorded this with.

It reminds me of the story Paul McCartney tells of the Beatles Shea Stadium concert in 1965 before the advanced speaker systems of today - their music was piped through the PA system.

Yeah they need to get this fixed. It is pretty bad. Not a huge deal but I have confidence they will figure something out.

I can tell you right now, on opening day when I went. During the 2nd and 3rd there was a ton of people just walking around or restaurants.
