2019 Trade Deadline

I feel like Howard has hit the wall the last couple years before the trade deadline, tanking his value. Turns out the numbers back that up at least from a save percentage standpoint.

2018 month before deadline: .886

2018 prior month: .927

2019 month before deadline: .842

2019 prior month: .901

Jimmy Howard is not a good team tank player; and he’s scared to leave.

There is a real good opportunity to move Frans Nielsen to the Stars right now.  We'd have to retain salary I think, but Zuccarello busting his arm last night has made another forward trade possible.

Nielsen to the Stars for a conditional 4th round pick.  Pick becomes a 3rd if the Stars reach the 2nd round.  Pick becomes a 2nd if the Stars reach the finals.

Kenny, do it.

Why doesn’t this forum have a angry reaction emoticon?

This could be his final year in the NHL. He came back to Detroit because he likes being in Detroit. I suppose he'd rather go out on his terms than be traded for a 3rd-round pick and play five minutes a night in the playoffs.

I'm ok with it.
