In any event, the teams on the ice are making for a lot of fun hockey. Who cares about the markets? Are the games exciting? Has it been fun watching the arc of this series play out? Yes. The goalies basically stole the first two games for a tired bunch of skaters and tonight when the skaters needed to, they showed up and looked like a different team. This team is finding a way on all fronts. It’s fun to watch. They can wear completely hideous jerseys with five fonts for all I care, this is fun. 

The jerseys matter because I'm not listening to the game on the radio.  It's hard to look at their jerseys.  It's hard to imagine that their marketing department believes those jerseys and logo are anything besides garbage.  Yes, it affects my ability to enjoy the game.  Also, I would enjoy this series more with Washington taking Carolina's place.  I had more interest in their team going forward.  The Hurricanes do nothing for me.  You live in the area, though, so I can understand how it's fun for locals.

As someone who just espoused endlessly to a friend about the glory and grandeur of Ovechkin as the greatest since Howe and how he is on the level of the holiest of holy of Howe, Gretzky, and now Ovechkin with Bobby Orr hanging off the edge by a hand, I get it. I like the Caps too. Maybe it helps that I’m local, but it’s still fun hockey. Edge of my damn seat. Alan Jackson says “We’re having a GOOD TIME!”

The Canes have a good, young, up and coming team, that are a lot of fun to watch. To say you can't watch the series because you don't like the jersey's is absurd... By the way, the logo is a "hurricane", not a f***ing rose... They may not be the most aesthetically pleasing jerseys, but they're not that hideous to not be able to watch the games...

The only thing I don't like about that current team is their sideshow post game celebrations, but I'm not going to go full Don Cherry and rant and rave about it...

While I really don't care that much, I have to disagree with the bold. Unless you enjoyed watching the Lemaire Devils of the mid 90s. Which I guarantee you didn't. The Hurc Jerks are playing clinical defensive hockey right now and it. is. impressive. (but not fun to watch, IMO)

I feel like the Islanders made a big mistake not playing their home games at Nassau in this series.  There was a considerable crowd advantage in that building as opposed to the Barclay Center.

I don't get the love for Carolina.  Small market, God awful uniforms, fans who only go to games when they're in the playoffs.  Not a team I'm excited to watch at all.  Imagine a Columbus/Carolina Conference Final.  The league can't be excited about that.

whoever the lady color commentator is, she's awful. That said, who would've thought the Carolina Hurricanes would be going to the ECF, let alone after 2 wins from their back up goalie.

The thing is, do people actually care about the Hurricanes in NC or only when they're doing well? I lived there for a very short time a long time ago and it didn't exactly seem like a hockey hotbed but i can't speak for the whole area.

Yeah I have a good friend who moved to NC two years ago. According to him the vast majority dont know the Canes exist.

hockey in the South just mostly doesn't work. ATL failed twice, Carolina, Nashville (works with a ton of transplants not from the area) Dallas is fine.

Come on Chaps, I know you love Mrazek but you're really trying hard to force the Mrazek narrative here. This round had nothing to do with Mrazek. McElhinney won 3 of the 4 games this series and did it with better numbers then Mrazek.

This Canes team is good, I said in in the first round but they are an underrated team that can do some damage.
