Bet he'll be full time with the Wings at some point in 19-20 season.

Hopefully he tears it up in camp and sticks with the team day 1

They're gonna have like close to 20 mil to spend if Luongo retires...

IDK but I hate them a little more with that logo. The old one was so cool.

Indeed.  They got rid of the only good thing they had.  Just more bad marketing by NHL franchises.

I think the logic was that there are a lot of Spanish-speaking people in Florida and Spanish-speaking people love them some soccer so let's make our sweaters look like soccer/rugby uniforms. Or something.

If my memory serves me the owner Vinny Viola is a military vet like the Vegas dude and wanted his team to reflect that, so when he bought the team and rebranded it he requested the shield be put on their jerseys. Bad choice cause it looks boring.

Ah, that makes sense.

It's a shame. This is one of my all-time favorite sweaters:

He had blood on his paws.  That offends modern sensitivities.

I actually liked their red jerseys better, but these were nice too.

Good bit on Veleno after signing. This guy needs to be Larkin's "A" if he flourishes into an NHL player.

The day before last years draft the 'panel' on NHL Sirius XM they discussed how mature/poised/leadership qualities this kid has...Apparently his billet families, coaches, teammates, etc gush over how great he is - as in just a 'quality' human being, a natural leader, an on ice warrior.

I'm thinking by his 3rd season he's gonna make the 10 plus teams regret passing on him in the draft.

He’s basically been a captain throughout his career if I’m not mistaken.

Might give Larkin a run for his money at some point. Not bad to have competition.

Would be nice to have another duo of epic centers Yzerman/Fedorov, Datsyuk/Zetterberg, Larkin/Veleno?

Also, anyone else thinks this guy looks like John Tavares?

Indeed.

Apparently that is a trait of his.

He may not be a 80 plus pts centerman at the NHL level, but he's 1 of those who will be a sound choice wearing the 'A' in Detroit when the time comes.
