Watching the HNIC pregame package on Quinn Hughes just brought home again how big the mistake we made with our first pick in the 2018 draft.

An elite D would be nice about now rather than a soft, one-dimensional winger.  #hindsight

Is there a reason Svech is on the 3rd line? Strategy or is he failing? Asking as I have tailed off paying attention kind of like the Wings

I did read his knee was still bothering him...which is concerning, but maybe just giving him smaller work load for that reason

Svech isn't really a top 6 scorer like the guys on the top 2 lines. He's just playing where he would best be suited.

The Athletic's Max Bultman dropped an article today asking a number of talent evaluators (Scott Wheeler, Craig Button, and two scouts) to give stylistic comparables for current Red Wings prospects.  They are as follows:

1. Seider: Alex Pietrangelo, Brandon Carlo, Jeff Petry, Aaron Ekblad

2. Veleno: Philip Danault, Mikhail Backlund, Adrian Kempe

3. Rasmussen: Handzus, Tomas Holmstom, Brock Nelson

4. Berggren: Nikita Gusev, Andrew Mangiapane, Jaden Schwartz

5. McIsaac: Alec Martinez, Ryan Lindgren, Ryan Pulock

6. Tuomisto: Colton Paryako, Tyler Myers, Ryan Pulock

7. Mastrosimone: Jason Zucker, Anthony Beauvillier, Tomas Tatar

8. Johansson: Andy Greene, Matt Grzelcyk, Jonas Siegenthaler, Nate Schmidt

9. Givani Smith: Chris Wagner, Brendan Lemieux, Lawson Crouse, Jordan Nolan

10. Soderblom: Nick Bjugstad, Brian Boyle, Jordan Greenway

10. Soderblom: Nick Bjugstad, Brian Boyle, Jordan Greenway

So like:

1. Seider: 1-2 Dman
2. Veleno: 2/3C
3. Rasmussen: Net front
4. Berggren: 2nd liner
5. McIsaac: 2-3 Dman
6. Tuomisto: 2-3 Dman
7. Mastrosimone: 2nd liner
8. Johansson: 3-4 Dman
9. Smith: 3rd liner
10. Sderblom: Bottom 6er

Pretty on point IMO, though more than a couple won't get there. Not really that daring of a take but that's okay I guess. Glad they see eye to eye with me on Seider and McIsaac. The player I hope and think might surprise ppl is Soderblom but idk.

Some won't reach. Some will exceed. Pretty standard stuff...
