to me, and this is just my opinion, it seems that Yzerman is pretty much done with Svechnikov. He probably isn't too worried about losing him on waivers.

Cholowski doesn't have the injury history that Svechnikov has. I highly doubt he'd be waived. If he's not part of the plans going forward, I think he would have some value around the league.

I think Cholowski forces his way back on the roster at some point this season.

At this point i think hes in the same ballpark in yzermans eyes . Just dont think hes got cholowski in his future plans as well

Like I said, even if he's not (I don't see it), he still should have enough value to keep on the roster / trade. He won't be waived, unless he gets a look again this season, and struggles / takes a step back from the previous two seasons.

I think Svechnikov may only be an Admin. move. He was injured and missed a lot of training camp, further hurting his development. He needs to clear waivers to go to GR and Steve may want him in GR to 1st heal and then get some meaningful games in GR.

The key there is that he does need to clear waivers. If not, he may be giving up a decent asset for nothing. In saying that, decent assets can be acquired for nothing every single year, via waivers or free agency, so whatever. If he clears, great. If not, probably not a huge loss. I like Svech though. I wouldn't mind seeing him end up with his bro in Carolina.

Whether or not Svechnikov was or Cholowski is in Yzerman's future plans is irrelevant. If they have trade value (Svechnikov probably didn't due to injuries), they will be traded, not waived.

The only one on that list that interest me a little bit is Oliver Kylington(23yo LHD). 1 PPG player in the AHL and 7p in 48 NHL games last year. Only 23 years old.

Seems unlikely though since we picked up Djoos.

I should clarify this before one of you corrects me. I think he looks like a PPG player in the AHL right now. He doesn’t hold that record. 14 points in 18 games in the 18/19 season and 3 in 3 in his short stint last year.

Yeah, I think he clears, just based on the sheer number of players placed on waivers yesterday. Over 100 in one day, most in league history...

I wouldn't mind Yzerman claiming Kylington, but maybe not after the Djoos claim. That's a player I don't see slipping through though...

Not many if any are former 1sts whos never really had a look yet and is unknown commodity, hes as good as gone 

kylington is 110% gone ... if im yzerman i waive biega and pick him up but i have a feeling as well he’ll play safe after picking up djoos, kylington might never be anything but hes 7 yrs younger and biega is a career ahler so it should be a no brainer move

'A former first' might mean something if he were 20 years old. The guy is 24. Nobody is picking him up. Teams waived players to set their final rosters, they aren't gonna suddenly start claiming others unless it's a too good to pass up player. Svech is not that.

Yeah, this is pretty much where I'm at as well. I still think Nielsen should have been waived before Svechnikov, but glad he cleared to hopefully get one last look. Either way, Svechnikov won't likely be a needle mover, but may still be able to be a decent 3rd line winger, if he can stay healthy...
