I don't expect us to sign anyone of note. Nor should we. Leddy was as big a move as I'd like to see, but nedeljkovic was just a massive power move dick swing by Steve and I'll take it.

I'd really just like to see the kids flourish and maybe get another top 10 this year before we start pushing for playoffs

In theory, yes. I don't see Gagner getting buried though...

right, i agree. also, we likely won't need any extra cap space

We definitely won't need the cap space. I assume you meant roster spot, which I agree. Unless both Raymond and Berggren push for a spot, in which case, great problem to have...

I do wish Seattle had taken Namestnikov over Cholowski though...

I am genuinely surprised by this... I thought Glendening would be a lifer in Detroit (Michigan)...

He is very replaceable though...

I don't see Yzerman doing too much today. I'm hoping for a LHD and Pius Suter. Looks like teams just don't like getting fleeced by Steve, they're all trading with each other and leaving us out. I certainly hope Helm splits. But with Glenny going away, he might get a contract....ugh....

Speaking of kicking tires... holland doing holland things this off season:

Mike Smith extended 2 years, 4.4m
Zach Hyman signed to a 7 year contract, 38.5m
Tyson Barrie extended 3 years, 13m
Cody Cici signed 4 years, 13m

Teams that may have to dump some cap...unless we are going to play the Tampa Bay Cap Circumvention Game again this season. NHL needs to end that "cheating." Just make the cap be in affect throughout the playoffs. That will end it. Plus it probably would've prevented Tampa from winning back to back.

Honestly though, there hasn't been any players signed anywhere that I would've wanted on Detroit (other than Glenny) so that is good.

Koekkoek and P. Suter would be nice. I am also waiting for a big trade....

What is your obsession with Koekkoek? He's a below average defenseman at best.

There's probably half a dozen or so guys on the market that I would take over Koekkoek...

Not obssessed, but if he is similar to a lot of other LHD, maybe he'll choose here because of the Yzerman history. But ya, most importantly I love to see just a LHD, but not just a 7th spot filler, we have them already. I want DD and Staal to be the 6th/7th guys, I'd love to see a D come in and be in our top 4.

Just seems like you bring him up specifically in every thread... lol

I agree with adding a top 4 defenseman to push DeKeyser / Staal down, but I'm not so sure Koekkoek would be that. He's your prototypical 3rd pairing guy, and probably not much, if at all, an upgrade over the aforementioned...
