Ownership/management had zero expectations of making the playoffs b4 Bertuzzi refused to vax or immediately after. And this team still does not look playoff worthy with or without Bertuzzi.

It's dumb to trade an asset like Bertuzzi when his stock is so artificially low. And I see nothing to suggest Bertuzzi will walk come UFA, as of today. Yzerman is re-signing worse guys like Fabbri and accommodating similarly liked teammates like Bertuzzi. All signs pointing to being a player who they will try to re-sign.

If Bertuzzi was a ufa Id agree but he still has 1 year remaining after this season. If hes as good as you believe he is and if covid restrictions are loosened next season like you believe they will Bertuzzi should 100 get a 1st+ from a playoff team.

None of that matters. He can't play in Canada in the regular season or the playoffs THIS year. He can't spend anytime with his teammates away from practice or games (even on the road) THIS year. His trade value is in the gutter THIS year.

Bert isnt going anywhere. The Fabbri signing isn't a sign of that. I think it has more to do with the lack of progress from Zadina, Moose and Veleno. If those guys had taken a big step forward, Fabbri would've been traded.

I think this is a bit of an overpayment, but the term is right.

Since he's been in Detroit Fabs has been on a 20 goal 50 point pace. 3 years $12,000,000 is fine for what he's providing us.

Vaxxed players are missing games so basically Bert being shoved in protocol(insert Helena St James conspiracy here) is a wash on that account as he could be vaxxed and shoved into protocol anyways. 

Berts missing games in Canada is to me  like a planned injury you have had time to account for it since training camp its not a shock like an injury the night before.   The person replacing him has an opportunity along with the coach to coach over the issue.  Not his fault the rest of the skaters play horrible when they cross the border. 

If he is soooo important that the Wings can't win without him when they cross the border or when he is sitting out with an injury.  How they will ever win games/playoffs/cups if he is traded.
