Remember how Eddog lookedat camp? Sorta lazy? Well hes still making those mistakes. He needs to clean that up yet to make the team. And when I say make the team i want him in an important role. Not a Lindstrom role.

True and true. If hes gonna be on the team its in the top four. Maatta and Chiarot makes a shutdown pair and Stevie adds som beast to partner with Eddawg.

In the unthinkable scenario of Bert not returning, Kasper will be a great substitute.

EGREGIOUS. OUTRAGEOUS. RIDICULOUS. LUDICRUS. I will not even entertain such INFANTILE lies and stories in this prestigious forum. Tyler is as much a part of the blood and soil of this fair city as any of us. As much as your grandaddies who sailed to Detroit on the Mayflower. He will return home and sign in Detroit and blow all your slanderous mentalties. My client will accept nothing less than a generous 8x8 contract, a pair of Gucci sliipers, and free manicures for life.

I love Jackie Chiles

If money was no object I would pursue my dream of becoming a black lawyer

Henceforth you will refer to my client by his mooslem name: TYPAC BERTAZZI

You say vaccination. We say CASTRATION. DESECRATION. DAMNATION. SUBJUGATION. Whatever happened to freedom in this nation??

Bert can only sign an 8 year deal with BOS now.

OUTRAGEOUS. RIDICULOUS. PREPOSTEROUS. Another brother cousin with a jerry curl and a fine valore tracksuit denied his rightful and righteous contract because the false leaders at the NHL have legislated against him with unjust bigotry.

This team needs another top6 c and top4 rd to replace Hronek with the 1st 2 picks in this draft.

Best case scenario

win the draft lottery - Connor Bedard

Isles miss playoffs - David Reinbacher

With these 2 pieces imo this team has everything it needs in the org to compete for a playoff spot and soon a Stanley cup. Just be patient and wait for them all develop.

Call me pessimistic but with our history with the lottery I don't see us getting Bedard.

Although if we get say a top 3 pick its almost as good as getting Bedard lots of talent in that top 10. I am on the fence with the Islander's pick @ 13 or higher this year or maybe they implode next year and we get another chance at a higher end pick.

9/10 gamblers quit right b4 they hit it big. Going by luck logic this is our year to hit big. If not its most likely all rigged.

Is anyone else seeing Raymond as a smaller Gus Nyquist?  I'm just not sure this guy will move the needle in a big, big way.

If he's a 2nd liner great, but it effectively means we're short another 1st line talent.

I'm really going to start questioning the Raymond pick if he doesn't get 30 goals and or 70 points next season

He's still, as of now, the 2nd best player in that 1st round... but the difference between him and Stuzle is immense... and highlights the screwing we took in the fixed lottery.

No. I think Raymond will be a more dynamic scorer. He's not a game changer, but I dont think he needs to be. I think he is still gonna be a top liner.

Raymonds just 20yo - 21 next week hes got 95pts in 143gp - 0.664pts%. If you look around the league at some of the top w most were at or below that rate at the same age. I agree he needs a big season next in the 70pt range but I disagree that theres been anything to indicate he wont be a top line w in the league. Another 2-3yrs of personal and team development and Raymond will be a pt/g w.

Stutzle is the better player and probably always will be. He's bigger, faster, etc.

But Timmy Stu's numbers would be alot s***tier on this carcass of a team, much like Raymond's. When you're 20 years old, 5'11", not very fast and you're next best winger peer is David ******* Perron, you're not going to get much mercy from opposing matchups. It's actually a miracle that he's has a legit shot at 20 goals this year tbh

Raymond definitely needs to put some work into his body in the offseason. He's small and not especially quick. He needs to work with Rasmussen's skating coach and get some muscle (especially on his lower body). The good news is that both these things tend to get better as guys mature. Right now those are the only two things holding him back.

I guess I was expecting Patrick Kane or Mitch Marner and so far I've gotten Gus Nyquist or Thomas Tatar...

I understand your point, but I'm not sure it's as bleak as you're making it seem. Neither Nyquist nor Tatar played in the NHL at 19 years old. He produced roughly as well as they did in their rookie seasons and he was a full 3-4 years younger. I think he's more like Marner (or Kucherov) in his developmental trajectory than he is like Nyquist or Tatar. But as I've already said, he needs to develop his skating and his strength like both of those guys did in order to hit that upper echelon. His skill and hockey sense is already there but right now he's just too easy to defend.

He's better than Gus.  He plays 200 ft and has a lot better knack for the net.  He's not Cam Neely by any means, but he's not just a guy you can afford to lose.  He has the ability to pot 400-500 goals over his career.  That's a good career.
