Trade Targets

At this point I'd keep Hronek. Our RHD in the system are pretty thin. And most of those guys aren't getting you anything. I'd be looking to trade Suter, Kubalik, Maatta, and eventually Perron. But realistically I think you're not getting prospects for those guys, you're getting futures.

I'm 100% not trolling when I say that it's more likely (at this point) that Zadina gets waived than it is that he gets traded. He had TONS of ice time and opportunity last season and he was trash. This year he's not gonna sniff the top powerplay or top six at 5on5. His numbers are gonna tank and he's gonna be out a job.

Perron 50% retained to STL for a 2nd. Nedeljkovic to Toronto for a 1st. Maata for a 3rd. Suter for a 3rd.

And there's your deadline.

Right Yzerman is going to give Perron a 2 year deal, Than trade him after one year and retain 50% for 2 years. Don't think so. Toronto has Murray and Samsonov. So why would they need or want Nedeljkovic?

We have a bit of a logjam right now.  We need fwd and RHD prospects.  Who could we target for Zadina, Erne, Suter, Hronek, etc?

Yzerman isn't dealing any of those players, Joe Veleno is still waiver eligible so he can be technically sent down to GR. In his interview with Daniella Bruce Yzerman says he expects big things this year out of Hronek and Zadina so he's not moving either one. Erne is Yzermans son so he wont be moved until the TDL if we're out of the playoff picture. Suter should be an excellent 3C after Larkin and Copp.

Indeed - since we’re not Vegas (baby!) the chances of Yzerman signing guys via UFA only to move them is unlikely.

It’s been a while, but finally we have legit talent playing where they’re supposed to.

I'd still really like to see us target Martin Necas. Rumor has it he and Brindamour don't see eye to eye. While I'm thrilled with Larkin and Copp at the top of the lineup, ideally we'd have another capable center closer to Kasper's age in case one/both of Larkin and Copp begin to trail off as they age.

Yeah i was bummed when Holland took Rasmussen over Necas, Necas is better by a country mile. And needs a change of scenery.

Necas is definitely better. But mark my words, Rasmussen has 20g, 20a this season.

I can definitely see that happening, After the kind of season Ras had this past season.

Ras had an awful start last season but found his game  after lots of (deserved) criticism. He wasstrong on the puck, used is body far better then at the beginning, played with poise and scored on some nice really nice snipes. This year he has to prove that it was just the first step and I think he´s ready for more. Really liked him the second half of the season.

Sounds a little like 20-21 Adam Erne tbh. I like what Ras brings to the team but wont be anything more then a bottom 6F imo.

I know most others feel the same - just keep Rasmountain on the wing and he'll be fine on the 3rd/4th line.

Sweet, sweet validation.
