kipwinger 8,606 Report post Posted January 13 Cossa looking very sharp. Not so much the rest of the Griffins. Big powerplay coming up tho.
kipwinger 8,606 Report post Posted January 13 (edited) Icehogs with 22 shots on goal in the first period. Woof. Cossa standing tall though. Edited January 13 by kipwinger
kipwinger 8,606 Report post Posted January 13 Call up Albert Johansson immediately. Rather can concede the empty net goal on an Icehog breakaway he took a penalty and made the refs award it. He doesn't want to win, he hates to lose.
Scott R Lucidi 630 Report post Posted January 13 team was flat. Cossa was good tho.
Troy McClure 347 Report post Posted January 13 Wallnuts had his NHL debut against Dallas a couple nights ago. Allowed 7 goals! Didn't bother watching, but that can't be good. Hopefully this destroyed Jesper's confidence a bit like when Mccollum allowed 39 goals against the blues back in his unfortunate debut. Walnuts was always billed as the more NHL ready tendy, and Cossa the raw project, I'm happy to keep him down in the NHL beyond this year. Just happy to see his draft mate fail to meet expectations. diehardredwingsfan58 156 Report post Posted January 13 Cossa was great last night for the Griffins, Too bad his joke of team mates couldn't score. So the final was Ice Hogs 2-0 over the Griffins.

Hopefully, we get Danielson up to the big club and draft a few centermen that have wheels. Our farm team is molasses slow minus a few defensemen that can move. I don't agree with this assessment at all. Kasper is 19 years old, has points in 5 of his last 6, and since taking over roles in the PP and PK the Griffins have won 5 of their last 7 games. Lombardi too has big roles on both special teams and has seen his using climbing at the same time the team has been on a roll. Kasper has gotten consistently better but missed a full offseason rehabbing from the injury (same injury that is still affecting Rasmussen) AND is learning the North American style game, in a very tough pro league, at a position with the most responsibilities. He's not Lucas Raymond, he was never going to make the team at 19 years old because he's a center and he had a very serious injury. That doesn't mean he's not going to be really good. Lombardi's "issue" is simply that he's undersized and is going to need time to put strength on (think of him like Berggren or Gus Nyquist). Probably won't be an NHL regular until he's 22/23 but when he does he's be a consistent offensive threat.

He plays a game that is beyobd 75% of the AHL caliber. I hope this is his last season in GR.
