He excels in knowing what kind of players make good NHLers. But his roster management leaves a lot to be desired. He should be offersheeting Broberg right now and putting the screws to EDM. Seider, Edvinsson, and Raymond should all be locked up right now, and Yzerman should be going after RFA's and be willing to lose some late 1st round picks.
