**Red Wings Face Bruins in Crucial Clash: A Battle of Original Six Rivals**

As the Detroit Red Wings gear up for their Tuesday night showdown against the Boston Bruins, anticipation is palpable. After a challenging home stretch, where they struggled to convert opportunities into victories, the Red Wings are eager to reclaim their footing against one of their oldest rivals.

Having recently faced setbacks against the New Jersey Devils and the Vancouver Canucks, including a heartbreaking overtime loss on Sunday, Detroit finds itself at a crossroads. The team has shown flashes of brilliance, most notably in their recent triumph over the Calgary Flames. Still, consistency eludes them, placing them sixth in the Atlantic Division—eight points behind the division-leading Florida Panthers.

A significant blow came with the injury of goaltender Cam Talbot during the loss to Vancouver, prompting the Red Wings to call up promising prospect Sebastian Cossa from the Grand Rapids Griffins. This young netminder will have the opportunity to shine during this pivotal road trip, as the Red Wings look to harness his potential and turn around their fortunes. (unfortunately, Lalonde will probably start Husso....idiot!)

On the other hand, the Bruins are beginning to find their rhythm after a rocky start to the season. Following the dismissal of their former coach Jim Montgomery, interim head coach Joe Sacco has infused new life into the squad. With a 6-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens last Sunday, Boston has captured four wins in their last six games, positioning themselves third in the Atlantic Division and just four points shy of the Panthers.

This matchup marks the second of three meetings between these two storied franchises this season, with Boston having secured victory in their previous encounter at Little Caesars Arena. With both teams looking to cement their standings as December starts, this clash promises to be an exhilarating display of skill, grit, and rivalry. Could another defeat be the final nail in the coffin for Head Coach Derek LaLonde?

Fans can catch the action live on ESPN+, and as the puck drops, all eyes will be on how the Red Wings respond to adversity and whether the Bruins can continue their upward trajectory. Buckle up for what’s sure to be an unforgettable night of hockey!

I am guessing we will ride the bolded horse to the end of the season and see what choices are available.

What is with the amount of Lalonde on the hot seat trash being thrown around?

We have been in a grueling rebuild for 8 years. This guy nearly got us into the playoffs in his 2nd year, but now he's going to be canned just a couple months into his 3rd? How long did the guy before him last as a perpetual dumpster team? 7 years? I know fan and media expectations lifted after last season, but come now, this is still a team that ultimately didn't make it and is still building towards the future. That means peaks and valleys (JUST LIKE LAST YEAR).

Furthermore, it's been reported on a lot that Yzerman only likes to hire individuals he is familiar with, and can trust to execute his design. So who TF we gonna hire to replace the News? Tanguay, a 4th year assistant? Boughner, a guy who hasn't been in contention for any HC jobs since he lost his last one 3 years ago, and who also got demoted to assistant last year? Watson, a 2nd year AHL coach?

My point is: highly unlikely News is on the hot seat IMO. He'll be back next year as well unless he starts pissing on the zambonis or something.

I can see him finishing the year... but I think his replacement is already being sourced.

My guess, he's not renewed and his replacement is known almost right away.

Apples and Oranges comparing Blashill and Lalonde.

Debrincat goes down easy looking for a call and the Wings lose in OT. If he’s skating hard thats a Wings breakout and instead we lose. F*ck that dude.

Disagree he was mugged... missing the net tho, for that he can go F himself!

Cat grabbed onto the stick and went down - looking for a call...He needs to step it up, or he'll get the Bertuzzi/Mantha/Walman/Fabbri/Hronek/Vrana/Zadina treatment from Steve...

There is nothing that pisses me off more than players looking for calls. 9 times out of 10 if you stop skating to engage the refs or sell a call you'll get burned...just like Debrincat did. I was really excited about Debrincat a year ago and now I see why he's bounced around a bit. He's streaky and is charmin soft on the puck. Perron and Sprong would give you more goals at a lower cost and wouldn't be such ladyboys about it. SY kept the wrong guys. Wouldn't you rather have Perron, Fabbri, Walman, and Ghost than any combination of Kane, Tarasenko, Gustafsson, Maatta, Holl, Petry? I would. I'm very tired of half-assed veterans with nothing to play for.
