    Kiprusoff

Need I say more, just watch how he played in Game 4 final 10 mins. If you don't think Kipper is awesome, I don't know what it.

    Flames Vs Detroit game 4

WOW!!!! I went to the game tonight not knowing what to expect I did expect Detroit to play hard, and Bertuzzi to suck. Man was I wrong on that one. Firstly, I have no clue what happened to Detroit tonight It almost looked like they couldn't care less. Bertuzzi was a shining point though. He played great tonight. Hasek, I don't know how some of you Detroit fans don't get sick of his antics. His useless penalty led to a goal that set the tone for the fans and the Flames. I do expect Babcock to rip things up in the dressing room and get his team fired up again. I don't think Game 5 is gonna be a cakewalk for either team. That being said, the Flames did not dominate the Red Wings by any stretch of the imagination. The Flames still need to work on many aspects of their game. I for one am greatfull that we have salvaged a great series. Well I gotta pack as I'm flying out tommorow to Detroit to catch game 5. Staying at the Marriot Ren Cen and going to catch a bite at Coney's (spelling ???) before the game on Sat. Its gonna be a great game!!!!

    Flames Vs. Detroit Game 3

Dude we could argue this all day so there really is no point. I will leave you with this fact; Calgary was the only team in the NHL with 4 players with 70 or more points in 06/07.

    Flames Vs. Detroit Game 3

I see, putting the carriage before the horse. Its 2-1 in the series, anyone can still take it. I wouldn't proclaim victory quite yet my friend.

    Flames Vs. Detroit Game 3

Here is where I agree and disagree with you. Calgary is the far more talented team on paper. The reason Detroit is doing so well is because they are out working Calgary. Detroit is a very hard working team. Downside, is the fact that I don't know if they can keep that up through the whole series, or the whole playoffs. But you made some decent points Are you being sarcastic?? What's GDM???

    What a hit by Cleary

My simple thoughts. If we're gonna dish them out, we've gotta be prepared to take it. SIMPLE!!! So as far as I'm concerned, Cleary had a great hit. But Detroit fans, please don't complain when Phaneuf pummels him in game 4. Second to that, I thought Cleary was one of the best players on the ice in game 3. I don't remember him playing that well before. He was a nobody in Edmonton, good for him for turning himself around.

It was eerie, I swear the Flames played better with the Fire Alarm. I think they thought they were on Fire!!!!

    Flames Vs. Detroit Game 3

Well, I was at the game and what can I say. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. The 7th man was in full effect. What you see on TV is not created by giving out free red t-shirts. The Sea of Red is 100% real!!! Now, I'm gonna first address what everyone is gonna bring up.... The Cleary Hit!!! It was dirty.... just kidding Honestly, he absolutely rocked Phaneuf, everyone was super worried when Phaneuf left the ice, but he's a trooper and got right back in the game. Good, clean, solid hit!! Cleary and Draper were easily the best Red Wings out there. Bertuzzi was a huge dissappointment. I enjoy watching Bertuzzi usually, but he was invisible in this game. No question that Detroit was not playing its best game, but neither was Calgary. While we saw a much improved Flames team, still too many turnovers, and still some defensive breakdowns. Regehr will be back for game 4, which should help us tremendously. What this all means is that Thursday is anyones game. I totally expect to see a close hard fighting game. Plus, I had already booked my flight and hotel for Detroit (game 5), I'm totally relieved that I'm coming there to actually cheer on the Flames. Maybe if you don't mind being seen with a Flames fan, I can come and have a beer with some of the lgw.com folk??? I now open the floor for discussion

    DOMINATED!

No word on Regehr. I think what frustrates me is the amount of talent on the Flames team and the fact we are playing like crap. Makes me wanna SCREAM!!!

    DOMINATED!

I actually wish I was talking about Detroit, but I can't believe I'm sitting here talking about the Flames. Detroit played a great game and absolutely shut down Calgary. Calgary had hardly any opportunities to get in this game. I'm embarrased for the Calgary Flames right now. No, I'm not jumping off the Bandwagon, I just can't believe the effort put forth today by my team. The sentiment in Calgary today is absolute pure ANGER!!!! While Detroit deserves every bit of credit for the quality of game they are playing, people are not seeing the real Flames. There are no excuses, and right now something dramatic has to be changed about our team. In fact I just read this article and actually kinda agree with this. TSN Article You better believe a little bit of panic is setting in with me. I just don't know how we're gonna climb outta this. Luckily for us we dominate at home, I'm just hoping we can get back in this series. Also, I'm a little surprised by the Red Wings Fans at the Joe. It just seems they aren't as loud as I expected. Maybe its the CBC feed and it just looks like that, but how is the atmosphere at the Joe?? Also they were mentioning that tickets to game 1 weren't even sold out, is that true?? Thanks for letting me vent, I'm hoping Red Wings fans will get to see a much better Flames club back in Calgary

    GAME 2: (4/15) Flames @ Red Wings

Local Calgary radio reporting that Regehr showed up at the rink early and indications are they he will be playing. Sorry if this has already been posted

    Phaneuf's cheap shot on Z

I'm assuming your talking about me, and actually I retracted my statment and said that Cleary's run into kipper wasn't totally dirty, just a little. Secondly, I also admitted that Phaneuf did use a little uneccesary force on Zetterberg. So I don't know if this post is totally warranted, I'm actually kinda agreeing with you. I agree with this, Phaneuf is always targeted, but thats fine, he can handle himself just fine. This had to be funniest thing I read. I'm not even gonna bother..... too easy!!!

    A Flames fan perspective

It looks like I touched a nerve with the Cleary thing. I went back and looked at the replay's and I'll agree that Kipper might have sold it a little, and that Cleary may not have intentionally hit Kipper, but I don't think Cleary totally avoided Kipper either. I dont' think that either side is innocent here. As for Iggy and Phaneuf roughing Datsyuk and Zetterberg, I agree, I might have been a little over the top. I'm confident however that everyone is going to see a different Calgary Flames club on Sunday.

    A Flames fan perspective

First off, WOW!!!! I usually hang out over at calgarypuck.com or calgaryflames.com, but I'm having way more fun reading the other side of the story. I'm totally impressed how everyone has been really great towards me, and is having a fun, civil conversation. I really am looking forward to flying to Detroit next week (fingers crossed, please flames win a game ) for game 5. I'm staying at the Marriot Ren Cen Now to comment about some of the posts I'm shocked to see a few of you think that Iggy is a goon. I think what seperates him from most elite players in the NHL is his physical play. Iggy isn't one to just go after players for no reason. That being said, I don't doubt he was a little frustrated last night. As for Bertuzzi beating him up or phaneuf up, I doubt it. Firstly, I don't think Bertuzzi is even going to fight cause his head isn't likely 100%. Secondly, most players don't really want to fight Iggy as he's pretty friggen tough to fight. The only time I can remember him losing a fight was last year against Francois Beauchemin. What everyone should be watching is Regehr and Bert. I've watched these two play against each other for years. You want to watch tough hockey, watch these two, its simply amazing. Both of them are about 230 lb each. Also, I kinda resent the comment about the Flames coming out to play "dirty hockey". Flames really have never played dirty hockey. Plus, the only really dirty move I saw in game 1 was Cleary running Kipper. None the less, lets seperate dirty from pure physical play. Also, listening to the radio today in Calgary, I'll be honest, alot of people were very surprised at the physical game Detroit brought. I thought Detroit played a very well rounded game, very impressive. The only thing is, can Detroit continue to keep up the physical play. For us, its simple, defensively we need to shut down the number of shots and chances, be more physical than Detroit, but most importantly, get more that 20 weak shots on Dom. Don't take me wrong, Dom played fairly well, but we really didn't test him at all. Let me leave you with these fine words of wisdom BEWARE OF THE KIPPER!!!!!! Go Flames Go!!! Thanks again, for allowing me to have great discussions with you wings fans. Also, can you guys make any recommendations for my wife and I to go before the game for a few beer. (where we won't get beat up in our flames jerseys)
