#1951819 WCQF Game 4 GDT: Coyotes 0 at Red Wings 3

Posted by Vladifan on 20 April 2010 - 06:40 PM

I understand that. I think it's juvenile, but I understand it. I just thought it was odd, since I wasn't insulting anyone here.....I was talking about the dudes up in the box that decide if it's a goal or not. Don't think any of them post here. Frankly, it makes me wary to post in GDTs anymore. *sigh*

You do not owe anything to anybody here. You be a cool poster and a most welcome addition to this board. So don't you dare even think about going away. :)

Ummmmm, no, you are far from cursed...not even remotely close.

That puck rode the goal line the whole time...pretty clear from the overhead replay.

Take it to those puppy dogs guys. I fully expect the wings to win game 4. Best of luck.

Thanks, Supafly. And may your guys shut the Avalanche the hell up. Or whatever I meant there...

#1950813 Ozzy for game 4?

Detroit does turn on their goalies insanely quickly.

Yeupp. And so do the coaches.

Already emailed these to Puck Daddy, not sure if they'll be shown there though. Then found out about this thread, enjoy:

The Three Tenors.

Unoriginal, but made it anyway.

There are so many great ones on here, but right now the Three Tenors gets my vote. Brilliant!

#1947798 McCarty on Vs....what happened?

I didn't say it was a "problem" for him again or anything like that, but he does still enjoy the 'ginger ale', as Mickey would say. Nothing wrong with that as long as he's put those demons fully behind him.

Thanks for the clarification, Matt. But speaking as a twelve-stepper myself, I haven't put anything behind me if I take even one more drink. Millions have learned the hard way that if you are truly addicted, there's no such thing as being able to drink moderately.

My dad ain't too pleased. Oh well. :hehe:

I hope he's doing a whole lot better, health-wise.

#1928307 3/30 GDT: Oilers 4 at Red Wings 5

Tonight is career game number 600 for Pasha. He's 5 goals away from 200 for his career...11 assists from 400...16 points from 600 career points. He is currently number 9 on the All Time Red Wings scoring list...49 points behind Brendan Shanahan at #8.

Congrats, Pasha!

I'll be at the game tonight.

OK, so do any of us see any problem with him getting those five goals tonight? I think not. I mean, why delay the inevitable?

Have fun, Pat!

I usually don't post before the game (superstition of mine) but today is a day of remembrance in Hockeytown, and I'm surprised no one mentioned it yet. This should get us all pumped up.

Funny you should mention that, because I did think of it yesterday. I still salivate when I think of that brouhaha, along with Roy's statue of liberty play. And then there's the 7-0 score in the same playoff series. Even if the Wings don't get far in this year's playoff battle, I can always look back on those wondrous and warm moments in Red Wings' history. ;)

Fantastic.

Although I was too young at the time to really understand the significance and magnitude of what I was witnessing, to this day, watching those clips still gives me the goosebumps - the good kind.

(P.S: Long time lurker, new member. Feel free to give me a, "Hey Champ! Good to have you" or similar generic, introductory banter.)

Hey, DirtyD! Welcome to the fray. Only thing I would suggest is that if you're lippy or opinionated at all (and yes, it takes one to know one) I hope you're good at ducking, dodging, and weaving. Other than that, glad to have you aboard!

#1916435 Ovie Suspended

Posted by Vladifan on 15 March 2010 - 07:06 PM

I finally saw the hit today because espn deigned to talk about it on PTI.

As much as I want to see iffy hits reined in, Ovie's hit didn't look all that bad to me. He hit him on his side, not his back. Mebee it was because he was too close to the boards? Dunno, but I've seen lots worse. Any of us here could probably name ten hits that were worse than that that were barely reviewed. Again, I think this goes back to Burke's comment about consequences mostly based on what happens to the hitee. Still isn't the answer.

Yep, Campbell needs to go.

Way to be completely dominated in the first period of a game they absolutely need to at least show well in.

Gutlessf****** wonders, all of them.

And when will they finally figure out that they win when they go to the net? This perimeter-only/zero angle offense neverf****** works.

Not even if they'd lost this one would I have thought that. Doesn't take much for you to turn on "your" team, does it.
