  1. So being favored to win the cup 17 of the last 20 years and failing to win them all huh? So who are the real chokers?? It's one game and based on that, you're writing them off in five? Wow.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

I have not stated that SJ rolled over your Wings. You are absolutely correct that either team was inches, fractions of inches, away from defeat in multiple games. It was a hell of a series. It's ok to Clowe bash but when Bertuzzi goes head-hunting, it's not? It's ok to call the Sharks divers, when your last night Howard drops like a powder-puff? It's ok to call the Sharks cheaters when Stuart changes his stick in game one after an icing call to delay the faceoff? The Sharks haven proven to be the better team over the past two years. I give credit to SJ adapting to Detroit's style of play. Again, the statement I'll remember most is Lidstrom's pre-game #7 statement that he has never played in a series where the two teams are so even. Cryin' about the diving, refs, crappy ice in SJ, overpaid top non-producers, etc. is not going to level this series.

This next round is all about being fresh (physically/mentally). There are a few players on SJ that have won a cup. If the same Vancouver team that beat Nashville shows, I think this series leans to SJ. If our core players turtle-up, it could be a quick VAN series. I loved Lidstrom's comment prior to game #7 where he stated that he has never been involved in a series where the two teams are so evenly matched. Total respect for the Wings.

    Congratulations to the Sharks

I honestly came to this site to express my appreciation for the Wings last night. It was a series where you hated to see a team lose. But, then everything on this thread was "f*** San Jose," and "f*** the Sharks." And now it's about the Sharks top three being overpaid and people are expressing how the Sharks are going to get steamrolled. WTF?

It's Slick Rick to you Hanka. Your team has more than Datsyuk. I am stating that if you take him out, your Wings never make this a series. Ever! That's a compliment Hanka! Bertuzzi got away from his game and paid the price. (night-night!) Guys like Seto, Couture, Clowe, Pavelski, Mitchell are all playing very well right now. I'd even state that our defense is playing better than advertised. Heck, even Wallin is playing well! And to all you haters who say Vancouver is going to roll the Sharks...I say, go back to the store and get some fresh grapes! O.K. but as long as you throw your sour grapes in that same can too!

I agree that our big three are all overpaid. But, to call out Jumbo Joe in this series? C'mon! Go back and watch the OT game 3 winner. Who made that play? Jumbo. Go back and watch his steals in each game from his back-checking. Take a look at the number of turnovers (hardly any) all series. Easy to call out our big three but it's sour grapes. Take Datsyuk off the Wings. What do you have? Take Heatley or Marleau off or team and we'll still beat you.

Joe Thornton played his ass off this entire series. Just ask the RW players and coaching staff. It's not all about the cute stats you looked-up. It's about contributing. Heatley played a great series in my book. He played responsible with the puck in his end and did a great job containing the neutral zone. Marleau stepped-up large last night. Not only with his BAM...game winner, but with a great defensive play way late in the game. Better team won last night.

    Congratulations to the Sharks

It was a heck of a series. Stinks one team had to lose. 6 of the 7 games were one goal games. Red Wing fans love this diving thing. Get over it. Your Wings scored an offside goal and a goal with too many men on the ice this series. Setoguchi gets dropped by Bertuzzi in OT and gets called. Just find this "f*** the Sharks" attitude a bit over the top.

Vancouver Media already playing "wings too old" card

Good info hear as we prepare for battle. Manny playing would be huge for Van.

Totally sucks for a team to lose this series. All I can say is WOW how spoiled you Wings fans are to watch such talent on a nightly basis! Datsyuk is the best player I have ever seen.

Wow, first thread I read and it's all, "f*** the Sharks!" What a bunch of babies! Night Night...

Wow... Ryan Clowe will not play in Game 6

The Kronwall hit was a GREAT hockey play. This is not enough to keep Clowe off the ice. He logged a ton of minutes after that hit. Take nothing away from him getting destroyed, it's not enough. Something like the flu makes complete sense. Clowe is the toughest dude on the Sharks. I gotta believe if we were facing elimination tonight that he'd be in there. It's a luxury to keep him out because tonight, we can only WIN the series folks! They updated the blog a few minutes ago (SJ Mercury, David Pollack) UPDATE: Still nothing from the team, but word being spread is “flu-like symptoms” kept Ryane Clowe off the plane — leaving open the possibility, I suppose, of a private jet whisking him here today if he woke up feeling better. More shortly. Seems pretty obvious he's out.

Is San Jose more talented than us?

Wow! What series are you watching? Heatley's assist on White's game #2 goal. Marleau's back-checking and pk play. Thornton has been a beast this series and last. He's playing with more confidence than ever. He's all over the ice...transition, forechecking, backchecking, attacking the net and making some killer assists. If all you look at is the scoring stats, your argument stands.
