#2501576 Net off the moorings question

Posted by MTU_Huskies963 on 26 March 2014 - 07:12 AM

I thought the call was BS. If there was no goal on the play smith would not have been given a penalty for Delay of game. I see the rule as a player has to push the net off directly, which would result in a delay of game penalty. In this instance smith is making a hockey play and the net comes off. I'm really starting to hate the NHL and all these rules they leave up for interpretation, nothing is black and white. On a side note since when can they review stuff like is the player pushed or not. I've seen plenty of calls were it was called goaltender interference, and the player was pushed into the goalie. On the replay they just looked for if contact was made with the goalie or not.

Sorry, that one was on Howard.  The original shot wasn't that good, he should have covered it up.  As usual, he overplays, gets himself out of position and the rebound is buried.

I'm not going to rip on Howard, but I'm starting to notice a lot of those spectacular saves he has had to make lately are caused by a horrible rebound and his positioning.

Im sorry but jimmy howard is dogs*** useless.

The team just does not win when he is in net. Too bad Gus is injured.

Theres no rule that says its not a penalty in OT. Smith has to be smart enough to avoid contact no matter how minor.Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

You do realize the only contact on the play was the caps player stepping on smith's stick?

Babs, call af****** time out. Wings are gonna get killed at this rate.

He is this worst at calling time outs. He only uses them to rest, never regroup.

I typically dont rag on our guys and never being a NHL goalie makes my opinion fleeting but my god Gus comes out of the net to center ice sometimes.

I can't rag on Gus, he's played better than Howard this year. He also made a bunch of key saves in the first to keep it 1-0. Howard or gus it does not matter who is in net, you can't give up stretches were the opponent out shoots you 9-0. That melt down was bound to happen with the way they came out in the third.

#2470209 WinterFest/ Winter classic Final thoughts

Posted by MTU_Huskies963 on 02 January 2014 - 11:38 AM

I am just curious to know what people's thoughts were of the Entire event. I thought overall the NHL/Detroit did an excellent job. Some of my thoughts,

Positives:

-Really enjoyed the Fanfest next to comercia it was cool seeing the Question and Answer sessions with the alumni

-The HOF exhibit was really nice (kind of crowded)

- The Parking for the Winter Classic was not as bad as I thought it would be. Paid $5 to park in Downtown Ann Arbor and walked to the stadium. We did have the option of taking the shuttle though.

-Michigan and Michigan State did not make it to the GLI championship game

-The atmosphere was electric at the winter classic. Both fan bases sang their national anthem

Negatives:

-I went to the concession stand twice, waited 20 minutes both times, just to be told they were out of hot chocolate.

-The Lines for the bathrooms were horrendous, if you could even find the line. Even at a UofM game they are not that bad. The main issue was everyone was coming up from the stands during intermission, and just made it horrible to navigate to the bathrooms. They could have brought in porta-johns.

#2468375 Leafs/Wings 24/7 Episode 3 Discussion (12/28)

Drew Miller gets chirped hard by Matt Martin  Best part of this episode.

Not only do the wings get beat up physically, they get beat up verbally  The part with Bert and the bottle was funny. He was successful in getting under their skin.

Is Parking at the Winter Classic going to be difficult? During Football season majority of the parking is on the golf course, and other grassy areas With the snow it would be difficult to keep these lots open. What are some good options that won't cost an arm and a leg to park at?

8.3 Blood  A player who is bleeding or who has visible blood on his equipment or body shall be ruled off the ice at the next stoppage of play. Such player shall not be permitted to return to play until the bleeding has been stopped and the cut or abrasion covered (if necessary). It is required that any affected equipment and/or uniform be properly decontaminated or exchanged.

Why was shaw allowed to be on the ice for the final minutes? The cut was not covered, and the cut continued to bleed.
