#2313588 Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

Posted by Konnan511 on 03 July 2012 - 12:56 PM

Ya, I don't like Tootoo, especially at 1.9mill. Eaves makes less than this. He ISN'T a good hockey player and is a goon that lives over the line. Not a "wings guy" imo. I don't see him becoming a loved guy in the locker room either. Waste of cap space. This would be one instance where if I were Kenny and had to move a player before the deadline for cap space, I'd trade a recently acquired player.

For someone who isn't a good hockey player, he had more points last season than in any season Eaves has had in the past five years. Tootoo isn't a goon. He can actually play hockey. Everyone ******* about not having a fighter or toughness on this team and we get a guy who is the epitome of that and people ***** because he isn't their favorite knuckle dragger.

Get over it. He makes this team better and harder to play against.

#2312528 Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)

Posted by Konnan511 on 02 July 2012 - 12:44 AM

People's reactions are priceless. We signed 4 players on July first. One guy was coveted by every NHL team and has serious speed and shooting abilities. One guy was heralded as the next big thing for goalies. One guy is one of the best pests in the league and fights and is a heart and soul guy who just put up 30 points and one guy who is a right handed shot and loves to shoot and will put up 20+ goals. All of these guys were all had for less than 10mil and we've upgraded our team toughness, backup goaltending, speed, and scoring. We still have 15mil plus we can spend and that's not even considering trading any of our players or the 7mil extra we get from the soft cap. And we haven't even signed two of Parise, Semin, Suter, traded for Ryan or Nash yet.

We improved our team and aren't done yet and people are already complaining. How spoiled are you brats?

Go Wings! In Kenny I trust!

I like tough gritty, players, but Tootoo is one of my most hated players in the league. Also, I'd say he was more effective as a fighter and a pest several years ago.

Furthermore, as others have said, it'll be harder now to get Parise or Suter.

All of our signings have zero baring on wether we get Parise or Suter.

I really think he could bring out the best of ABdelkader as well. Having a guy with him who runs around nailing guys and isnt afraid to fight will get Abby more involved and increase team toughness more

See, we can agree on things!

#2311412 i hope we dont panic if suter and parise signs elsewhere

Fans will panic. Holland and co won't.

#2309877 Blashill to coach Griffins 12-13 season

Posted by Konnan511 on 25 June 2012 - 09:30 PM

Chelios?

I would love to see Larionov or Fetisov but I think they are happy with what they are doing...

Larionov in any coaching role would be magical. One of the smartest people, let alone players, in hockey.

#2309229 Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans

Posted by Konnan511 on 23 June 2012 - 12:41 PM

We will see how he turns out, but after Grigorenko, Leino, Brunnstrum, etc I will hold off on the excitement and hope until A. He earns a roster spot and B. he establishes an effective role for himself.
It's one thing to tear it up overseas, but it's something else altogether to translate success over in North America, whether as a top line player or a bottom 12 grinder. I would certainly love if he can play even up to Hudler's level, but I won't hold my breath.

Grigs was on the fast track to being an NHL allstar and nearly died and was never suppose to walk let alone play hockey. If you're shocked that he wasn't as good as everyone pre crash made him out to be then you need to re-evaluate things.

Leino was one of the main cogs that nearly landed Philly a cup. He's done alright. Brunnstrom's a flop, so I'll give you that.

He's a righty. Shoots first. Is amazingly fast. Zero risk, massively high reward. Anyone who doesn't like this move is bat crap crazy.

#2308586 Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

Posted by Konnan511 on 21 June 2012 - 09:43 PM

We can do way better than Hudler. That said, I wouldn't mind him back, one dimensional or not, he's a 25 goal scorer. He's our secondary scoring and a good secondary scorer at that. If he can be had for a steal at 3 mil or less we should do it.

#2303126 Who's going to make it big if anyone?

Posted by Konnan511 on 25 May 2012 - 01:25 AM

I picked Iron Hook and Jurco. Smith will bea very good top four DMan and Nyquist I have as a formidable top six guy. Jurco has all the tools to dominate. In five years after a few seasons in the NHL and at his NHL prime playing weight, Jarnkrok will be established as a star. Funny thing though, XO I have projected as being a better player than Smith by a decent margin.

#2302968 Wings look into Jonas HolÝs?

Posted by Konnan511 on 24 May 2012 - 09:38 AM

I laugh at the negs because you folks think that Holland should rather sign this guy than Suter... I didn't knock the guy, I just simply said, do what needs to be done then experiment with these type players...do you seriously think this guy is gonna be the "Suter" we are looking for?

(of course if the neggers would man up and defend why they negged, we'd know what they thought)

Sign Suter THEN sign cast offs...Besides, if he finds out he is going to GR, he is going back home again...

No where in your initial post did you say sign Suter first and foremost, then bring over this guy and I'll be ok with it. You went straight into spaz mode.

#2301353 Chances of landing Parise?

Posted by Konnan511 on 14 May 2012 - 08:56 PM

I would have put 0%, but it wasn't on there. I want him and/or Suter, but other teams will offer stupidly high contracts to 'em.

#2300967 Franzen has a broken nose ?

Cross check to the face then a spear to the nuts. And some people are condoning those actions? SMH.

#2300965 Bettman wants to tout the "Original 12" now, haha

Posted by Konnan511 on 13 May 2012 - 11:17 AM

cant wait till his contract is up and this guy will be shown the boot. He is an absolute atrocious person and maybe the worst commissioner in all sports.

The owners and player love him. Any smart hockey fan knows he's good for the game.

Atrocious person? Really? Come on now.

#2299782 2012 World Ice Hockey Championships

Jarnkrok will be centering Swedens second line today against Denmark. If he's good enough to be Swedens second best center (save for playoff performers) he should be able to help the Wings next year. I know he won't be brought over, but a line of Nyquist, Jarnkrok, and Filppula would be one hellish fast and skilled line.

#2286160 WCQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 3, at Nashville Predators 2

Posted by Konnan511 on 13 April 2012 - 11:40 PM

Our D is extremely week on the puck and they are terrible at clearing the zone.

Awesome on skating out of the zone but terrible in our own end and ESPECIALLY in front of our own net.

Kronwall, Stuart, Ericsson, Quincey are all strong on the puck. Lidstrom is shifty and has great balance with the puck. White is neither string or weak on the puck.

I'd expect us to look much better in front of our own net the next two games on ice that isn't made from gluing refrigerator ice cubes together.
