I am less impressed with the fact he starts something than his teammates come to finish it.... That little shot to the head was a ***** move, but not particularly dangerous. Now I can see why some people would make this a big deal as he did go on a 50000 city tour opening for Charlie Sheen with the whole 'head shots aren't a part of the game'. I do believe if hes going to take the moral high ground and not put himself in position for someone to take a run at him hes going to have to start walking what he talks.
Brunnstrom had a decent training camp and now when you need to tie a game youre putting Brunnstrom out there?
Do you guys not realize that Brunnstrom wasnt even that guy in the AHL last season?
And once again Brunnstrom had 10 les pims in less games played than Nystrom last year, while 10 of Nystroms came in fights and I can guarantee a few were off setting roughings. Using stats and not bias against a player will show you that Brunnstrom actually takes more dumb penalties
The Wings have also been worn down physically in the playoffs by the sharks and Coyotes the last 2 seasons. Noone will like to acknowledge that because it makes their argument against a physical player sound better. Maybe if the wings could wear down another team for once they would do better in the playoffs
When has anyone suggested signing someone who cant play but can fight?
Youre the worst on this board for putting words in other peoples mouths, as soon as its a 4th liner who can drop the gloves hes automatically only a fighter and useless in every other aspect according to you.
Maybe try watching the guys play for once and youll realize they do just as much as someone like Drew Miller
That might be true, but, game 7 Nystrom wouldn't have scored the GWG. Brunnstrom had a bad year last year, but, he has talent. His attitude was always his issue not his skill level.
I think its a good idea because Brunnstrom had a good training camp but isn't some god like player that fills any real needs at this point in time. Nyquist had a better training camp and he got sent down.
He had a good training camp sure, but does that mean he shouldnt have to put in a little AHL time.. Ville Leino did and Brunnstrom doesnt exactyl have a great track record of producing so why is it that he should have a guaranteed NHL roster spot when another person could be picked up who fills more of a need on the team?
I think youre overvaluing Brunnstrom, maybe not Nystrom but a player of his ilk that can play and scrap ont eh 4th line would be much better for this team than Brunnstrom
How does Nystrom help Detroit beat San Jose in the 2nd round? The Wings lost because of poorly timed penalty and no clutch scoring. If I want to put one of those two on the ice when I need to break a tie, or tie a game, Brunnstrom is the only choice. If I want to put a player in who won't cost the team a lead by taking a stupid penalty, again Brunnstrom wins.
With Mursak down I would waive Brunnstrom for him to be honest.
We dont need a guy like Brunnstrom really and we could really use a guy like Nystrom. A guy who can enforce and play, its too bad we neded up locking these many guys up because he would be the perfect fit here.
The physicality he brings is worth the 3 less assists he gets than Miller while Miller is playing with better teams.
You play Nystrom with Eaves and Helm and he easily produces like Miller does
There is a reason why the Wild waived him, if he can't fit in on the Wild's roster, which is not deep by anyone's definition, why would it be different for the Wings? Brunnstrom showed heart and hard play and earned a contract, Nystrom got bounced from a team expected to contend for a lottery pick. Gotta get the enforcer glasses off, he just doesn't fit in the depth chart anywhere. Sorry.
Why did Pulu get downgraded rank wise after a killer season in Finland? The ranks and lists are s***, I hate to be so blunt, but I won't sugar coat it, Marshall and Ferraro top ten? Alqvist not? Pulu going from 8 to 7.5 and both being D? I could see that one if he was a 7.5B, but he blew everyone's expectations out of the water last season, and is having a strong preseason this year.
