He had 16 goals in the playoffs.
16 goals in only 24 games that's insane! He will be a Red Wing next year If I have to pick him up from Grand Rapids and drive him to Detroit myself!

Highest since 2005?
Highest since 1991. Kindl was #19 in 2005.

I understand what they were trying to do... I think, kind of emmulate Chicago's "Saad-Toews-Hossa" line. I honestly don't feel like it's a bad idea, but at the same time... there need to be a skilled guy to run shotgun with Pavs. Abdelkader did well in his puck retrieval/going hard to the net role.
I still think "Abdelkader-Helm-Tootoo" would have been one of the better fore checking lines in the playoffs, if they could have used it.

Filppula - Goodbye
Frangelina - Goodbye (see ya in Vancouver)
Cleary - Goodbye
Bertuzzi - Goodbye
Samuelsson - Goodbye
This team is a dire need of TWO top 6 scorers....and someone to give Kronwall a blanket party to wake his ass up! Hello! You are the #1 guy here, PLAY LIKE IT!
on a side note, so glad I don't have to stop complaining about "The Choice"

Better team won. We were lucky to take it to game 7, and even to OT.
I blame Filppula for being completely invisible for this game.

I read through this thread again and I know that this post will seem like in trying to say that I was right and the people I was arguing with we're wrong, but I that is not my intention so please take this in the spirit in which its intended.
I made the point that anything can happen in the playoffs and a few people jumped on me saying that it can't and the wings don't have the roster to make any sort of run in the playoffs. Yet here we are up 3-1 on Chicago and even I am surprised at what this team has done. The Wings have the skill, grit, and goaltending to compete with anybody, it was just a matter of putting it together at the same time. It is a nice change to feel what the fans of all the teams that knocked off the heavily favored wings in the past 15 years.
I'm so proud to be a hockey fan in general because its the only sport where every team has a legit shot to win a championship.

Hossa is by far the better player. The only thing consistent in Franzens game is his inconsistency When hes in one of his 20 game goal droughts he brings nothing else to the team with his floating around. Hossa plays hard every game and is atleast a threat the defense needs to pay attention to every shift even if hes not scoring.

No kidding.
It's funny how once someone becomes a whipping boy here, they keep getting bashed regardless of how they actually play. His 5 points has him tied with Brunner for third in scoring on the Wings.
Cleary is a warrior and it shows this time of year.
It shows, yes; but in contrast to previous years, his body is now actively failing him, and he now also seems more prone to mental mistakes than he was in the past.
There's only so much an athlete can do when his body is not cooperative.
How does Cleary get a C+?
He scored 5 points in the series. You gave him a slightly better grade than Smith, who looked like he was trying to sabotage our efforts on every other shift. Smith is a D at best.
Crymson, you need to wake up and smell the Cleary coffee. It's a brewing.
His two goals came from random deflections off of his body, and none of his three assists were passes to the scorer.
Cleary was, until this season, one of my favorite players in the league. As I've said, his body is simply failing him.

Terrible defending there.
Lashoff shouldn't have played a minute in this series. Loser belongs in GR after all.
