WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Ducks 3-1 tonight. Goals by Getzlaf, Pronger, and Selanne. The series will be over tonight. Regarding the Wings looking back to 2002 in repeating a 3-2 comeback against the Avalanche, only 7 players from the Wings current roster (Draper, Maltby, Lidstrom, Chelios, Hasek, Holmstrom, and Datsyuk) were around back in 2002 for the Wings. It wont be the same outcome. This will be the Ducks best game of the series

I completely understand what you are saying WIld Wing. Datsyuk, Hank, Listrom, Chelios, and Hasek are the Wing players that have so much of the burden on them to keep the Wings in this series. Ive mentioned before that I think Datsuk and Hank are IMO, the two best players in the NHL today. However, I think that as this series goes along, the ice will be tilted more and more in favor of the Ducks

Thats one. Like I said in the first post of this thread, the Ducks speed from blueline to blueline via tape to tape passes is really gonna hurt the Wings. Brian Engblom said the exact same thing regarding the Ducks transition speed from blueline to blueline during one of the intermission reports during game 2. Ducks have outplayed the Wings by far so far this series, if it wasnt for Hasek making some incredible stops in the first two games. Three more to go for the Ducks. Good luck to you guys.

Wings are a very good team, but once the series starts on Friday, you guys will be able to see just how the Ducks play their game. The Wings will have difficulty facing the Ducks. If the WIngs fall behind like they fell behind to the Sharks in almost every game of this past series, please do not think that the Ducks will give up 2 goals leads and lose games. If you think that will happen in this series, you are very wrong indeed.

I like the wings, but I like the ducks even more, hometown team.

I was just trying to say that I did know about jiri Hudler, who plays center for the Wings, in regards to a previous post. Then went on to state why the Wings defense will fall short in this series, because of the lack of depth. The Wings had a lot of blueline depth in the 2002 Cup run, and before game 5 began vs. Carolina, Bowman was considering using Fedorov as a defenseman in replace for Jiri Fisher, who was suspended for that game 5. All in all, the blueline will be a major weakness for the wings this series, IMO

Yes I have heard of Jiri Hudler. Back when the Wings won the Cup in 2002, they had a deep defenseive squad even after Fisher was suspended for game 5 of the Cup Finals. Jiri Slegr replaced him in that game even after Fedorov was a possibility to fill in on defense for that game 5. Thats why the Wings defense will fall short in this series. I follow the Wings very closely, but I also follow the Ducks as they are my team

I do believe that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are the two best players in the NHL. However, I think the Ducks depth will definitely overcome what the Wings will be able to offer

Honestly, I have never beena fan of Lang, not quick enough and lacks hustle. He did score that great goal in game 4, however, I think he is too overated.

Dont get me wrong. Thats just my opinion. If Im eventually wrong, Im wrong. So be it. But thats my take on it. Good luck guys

Now ive always liked the WIngs, and my favorite player was Steve Yzerman. Even wear his number when playing hockey and have the Red WIngs team signed jersey from 2002, but my Ducks will win this series I believe. The absence of Schneider will cost the Wings dearly. I just cant see the WIngs beating the Ducks in this series. The Ducks are ready and well prepared, and are on mission. Ive seen every Wings games this postseason, and the Ducks speed is going to catch the Wings offguard. The Red Wings blueline is considerably slow, with the exception of Lebda and maybe Lidstrom. In my opinion, and you guys may not agree, but I think that the long passes the Ducks make in this series from blueline to blueline will really hurt the Wings. The defensive positioning of the Wings defensemen I think will cost the Wings the series. If the Wings fall down early like they did in the first 5 games in the San Jose series, mark my words, they will not pull out the wins like they did against San Jose in games 2 and 4. The Wings defense has serious weaknesses. Pahlsson is the most underrated player in the NHL, IMO. And watch out for this player I mention to you guys. His name is Ryan Getzlaf. He wil be the difference maker in this series. I'll be at the games here in Orange County Predicting Ducks in 6. However, as odd as this may sound to some of you, I wouldnt be surprised if the Ducks end up sweeping this series. Good luck
