#2680331 Stamkos to... Tampa

Posted by Detroit # 1 Fan on 29 June 2016 - 05:11 PM

Pierre Lebrun just tweeted: The Red Wings by the way, would have loved to pitch Newport/Stamkos, but never got the chance this week.

Should probably be a wake up call, we were never really in it.

So lame. I think many of us used to joke on here about that being the name.....

I avoided posting during the game, but kinda glad this charade is over...complete overhaul needed and it starts with KH on down.

Watching the passing, and how the Blues pp is set up...Makes the Wings look so ECHL.

Watching some of these other games really shows you how far away Detroit is now.

Holy crap man. Of course Z, Kronwall have aged pretty badly and Ericsson makes a lot of errors but what the heck kind of post is this.. How are you still allowed to post here with your racist comments? Singling out a group and pushing a made up false narrative??

Mods?

I have never really had a problem with you man but what the f*** you talking about lol. I'm no mod but I see nothing wrong with what he said.

Anyways I'll probably be watching game 5 for #13 only.
Also, Wings Twitter saying they'll win in 7 now. Like please god no. Don't put that out there..

How awesome would it be if, datsyuk really is done, and they don't have his cap hit, holland steals stamps from Yzerman? I would love that just because it would piss all thevtampa fans off. Or, what if holland resigns and Yzerman goes back to Detroit and takes stamer with him?

Why would Stamkos want to play for this team?  We have a worse looking future than any other team in the division.

Edit.  Except for Toronto.  Unless they can swing Stamkos.

Difference between this year and last:

(1) Mrazek has the ability to steal a game. Howard does not.
(2) Babcock is a much better coach than Blashill.
(3) Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwall are all noticeably worse players a year later.

Can't be shocked - this team is what it is... Shouldn't have made the playoffs and now we're surprised we lost 2 in a row in Tampa.

No Mantha and Smith are not the answer, our problems are far greater than Smith and Mantha -> Ericsson and Andersson.

I have to throw my hands up.
It's been awhile but - rebuild or kinda rebuilding - this team is a damn embarrassment.
I'm done with Tatar & especially Nyquist. Zero zero ZERO guts or passion.

This past season - 25 years making the playoffs OK cool - but these guys are embarrassing our jersey. I want Holland gone. Blashill can become an assistant here or somewhere else.

This is a damn business first and you never EVER embarrass that crest on the front of your jersey. It's time for a shakeup. Not bulls***ting PAYING fans with cute one liners and promises that you know better, Mr Holland.

It's not a matter of winning the series. Win. Lose. But show up.
No excuses. I don't care which team has the most talent.

You never embarrass the jersey and this group minus maybe 6,7 guys, are doing just that. We are a joke. A joke.

Paved & Zata deserved better Mr Holland. Excuses are for losers and we haven't made excuses since the 80s. BUT HERE WE ARE TODAY.

Absolute pathetic.

I hate jumping ship when a team is down 0-2. It's a perfectly surmountable challenge for some teams. But this one has no skill, no killer instinct and I'm pretty sure hasn't gone 4-1 at any point this season.

Yes, it's surmountable for good teams, something we are not.

Blashill is a product of Holland's failures.

This organization is going nowhere until they take a long look at themselves and reassess their philosophy. Unfortunately, if they have not already after six years of mediocrity, I am not overly optimistic they even recongnize the need to adapt.

That couldn't be the worst attempt at a save in history

I have zero faith in the management of the team. Players will give the effort but fall short. 4-1 Tampa

Tampa in 6 wings couldn't even defeat the Rangers B team without King Henrik.

Hope I'm wrong and everyone plays their heart out for Pasha one last time

4-1 Lightning. The Red Wings limped to the finish line and are going into the playoffs trying the same exact strategy of running veterans into the ground and not icing the best possible lineup.

Crazy thing is this series is there for the taking. I just don't trust Blashill's usage and insistence of playing not to lose.
