DO refrain from using vulgar language. There isn't an active curse word filter here because our members have shown in the past that it isn't required to make your point. Curse words can, at times, be an effective way of translating some emotion into a post, but only if done so in moderation. Abuse of this privilege will result in the activation of the curse filter and the suspension of the offending member's account.

Malkin wasn't the only one who's suspension based on that rule was rescinded. He wasn't out there to send a message and the suspension wasn't necessary in that case.

This makes it sound like skill players are exempt from the rule. He acted tough within the last 5, apply the f***in rule and don't read the f***in' jersey first! f***!

Yea when Crosby scored that OT winner the first thing I said was, "Why Crosby?"

And yea again, in 2009 Malkin, Talbot, Fleury, the NHL (for not suspending Malkin for Game 3), and the refs (for not being able to count to 6) won the Cup. It wasn't Crosby.

For the upteenth time:

Malkin wasn't the only one who's suspension based on that rule was rescinded. He wasn't out there to send a message and the suspension wasn't necessary in that case.

jroc: Who said it was Crosby's victory and no one elses? Malkin won the Conn Smythe, everyone celebrated with the cup, Talbot was praised for his two goals in that series as well as other players throughout (including Staal's shorthanded goal in game 4).

Better get out your torch and pitchforks, it's a Wings fan defending Crysby.

Shaman: I haven't seen any evidence that Crosby gets preferential treatment from the league compared to everyone else. Guess what? Star players, liked or not, tend to get the benefit of the doubt over lower players. It isn't just Crosby.

And Crosby responds because, hey, he's Crosby.

http://www.post-gaze...ys-digs-629716/

Oh wait, maybe he's not going to respond...

Penguins center Sidney Crosby said today that he didn't care to respond to critical remarks NBC hockey analyst Mike Milbury made about him during an interview with a Philadelphia radio station Monday.

Phew, keeping his whiny mouth shut for a change.

And then, almost immediately, he responded, albeit briefly.

...never mind.

And of course, he unknowingly admits the whole double-standard when it comes to penalizing him.

"There are times when, it's a contact sport, and I do get involved, but I don't think I've gotten one penalty in a scrum since I've been back."

...despite the fact that there have clearly been times he should have been penalized. Spoiled little baby boy just doesn'tf****** get it.

When does Crosby start fights he can't finish? No idea where you get this from.

Crosby isn't the only star in the league to dive.

Crosby isn't the only star in the league to ***** and moan to the media.

No, but he's the one that gets shoved down our throats and treated like he's the second coming.

There are a few chosen players that seem to never be able to any wrong in the league's eyes, and get treated as such. They start fights they can't finish, they dive, they ***** and moan to the media, and they give hockey a bad name. Its not just one player, though one player is the poster boy for it.

It was refreshing to see someone in the media actually say it like it is when it comes to Crosby's behavior and not just ignore his antics like everyone else.

I am Canadian and have been a fan and/or had high respect for every allstar/marquee Canadian player that has come around over the years regardless of how badly they have punished the Red Wings at different times throughout history. I can honestly say as early as his first World Juniors appearance I haven't been able to stomach Crosby and my dislike has grown with time. 2008 and 2009 certainly put some salt in the wounds especially because it seems every brain-dead fan up here has the Pens as their 2nd favorite team because of that little weasel. Even when he scored the Olympic goal in 2010 the first thing I said (after jumping up and celebrating) was "uggghhh, I wish it was ANYONE but him". Because he was a complete ghost 95% of that tournament and got all the credit - just like in 2009 when he was a minus player almost every game, couldnt win faceoffs, and put up no numbers in the finals but because of who he is its viewed as HIS victory. With Briere now injured I hope at some point in the coming weeks that Rinaldo or Sestito can line Crosby up and devastate him. Milbury is an idiot but hes an entertaining idiot who is a tough oldschool guy that calls it like he sees it - I agree wholeheartedly with him here.

I couldn't have said it better. Yeah, Milbury might be a douchebag at times, but this time he's right on the money. This double set of rules for one person and then the rest of the league is getting way too old. If you act like a spoiled kid, you should expect to get punished for it. He deserved what he got. I wish someone would line him up and knock him into next week.

Milbury is an idiot. Crosby does have some PUNK in him. However that was a cheapshot by Schenn. This series will be the most entertaning one in the first round.

Was barely a shove and Crosby went flying to the ice and instantly looked to the ref. It was also retaliatory for all the cheap s*** Gary's baby boy was getting away with during the game.

#2272888 So who could the Red Wings get in the offseason?

Posted by kipwinger on 22 March 2012 - 08:40 AM

Would you rather talk about the teams awesome play as of late?

To tell the truth, yes, yes I would. Want to know why? Because at least the games we've played lately have actually happened. So I can say factual things about them and not have to speculate about who Kenny's going to sign, and for what money, and how they'd fit on the team. Which is all just made up gibberish, and it never pans out anyway. NOBODY on this board ever correctly guessed that the Wings would sign White, Commodore, or trade for Quincey. Not one person (including myself), for all the talking that took place. So all this speculation is just sort of like fantasy hockey...or masturbation.

#2272823 Brendan Smith watch thread

Posted by newfy on 21 March 2012 - 09:25 PM

Maturation takes time. I would rather Smith get through these growing pains in the minors than in the NHL.

He wont have these growing pains in the AHL. Hes too good for that competition and the little s*** he gets away with down there will make him develop habits he cant get away with at this level. He seems to already be ironing some wrinkles out of his game already

#2272059 reunite the HZD line?

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 19 March 2012 - 11:49 PM

I hate to say it but I agree with the Homer summary that's being given. I think at this point it's hard to send Nyquist back down, he looked good with Dats and I think given a couple more games with Dats he could really break out heading into the playoffs. When Franzen comes back I think Homer needs to sit so Nyquist can stay in and then (hopefully) the Wings are left with 2 legit scoring lines again.
