#2242150 Detroit Red Wings, Stanley Cup Champions!

Posted by VM1138 on 07 January 2012 - 09:55 AM

Thought I'd share this, as you know I like to contribute historical-based links here, and I stumbled across this on Youtube. I like this video because it shows more than two second clips. This video actually gives you a chance to figure out what's going on. Awesome highlights. Not quite as good as a full game, which as far as I know aren't available anywhere this old.

And 1955:

Love the speech at the end about how consistently awesome the Wings are. Sounds familiar!

Paging Jiri "the Fury" Hudler.

Time to use that training, m'boy.

Remember what happened the last time A Detroit goalie wanted to fight in a Blues game? Probably under the age of 25. Look up CUJO!!

Remember the last time the blues made the playoffs? Me neither...

Actually she does. She has supported Dats and many other Red Wings at the Red Wings Training camp for 10+ years. He says hello when he sees her to note how supportive she and her family have been to him.

thanks. it was a serious question, it seemed like she might know him.

the posts are still kinda creepy, though.

Reports are Bobby Ryan is being shopped, he would be pretty good to have but lets face it, super pipe dream.

Rule #2: It's the Board of Governors that has to approve any realignment plan, not the commish.

#2200093 Draper or Hudler?

Posted by SwedeLundin77 on 21 July 2011 - 12:41 PM

Hudler... still has potential to be traded and possibly could improve in a contract year. We could technically benefit off of him playing stronger this season, but i'm not counting on it.

I like that Draper is leaving and we have Mursak coming in. I think Mursak will be a great player with us. He's pretty much Helm with better hands...

Haha I was reading over this thread...actually kind of funny. The jealousy is hilarious. You aren't as domimant as you once were and now you are getting angry about it. You refuse to accept the fact that anyone in the NHL can be equal to the divine REd WIngs. Habs? 24 cups? No, the Red Wings are better. It's nourishing to me how much you guy want Pittsburgh to lose. Either way, I'm proud of the Pens. We play hard, we do contracts correctly. We might lose in seven to a team that also upset the President's Trophy winners, but at least we didn't lose in 5 to the biggest choke-artists of all time.

Wait a minute... two weeks ago you guys were laughing "Ohhhhh the Caps choked!! They lost to the 8th seed how pathetic!" Now you guys are in a Game 7 with that same 8th seed and you're "proud of the Pens". We lost to the #1 seed in the West, a team loaded with superstars. You're in a dogfight with a team that finished with the 18th best record in the league and has played the entire series without their best defenseman and now their second best is injured too.
