Looking at today's game against the Panthers, I just thought that I would bring up our old friend Mikael Samuelsson. While he wasn't popular around these parts and not much to look at, I can't help but appreciate what he brought to the Wings. He was a solid third line player who had a nack for scoring big goals and showing up in big games. I never disliked him and never understood everyone's hatred for him.
I would totally take him over Cleary, Homer and hell, the whole fourth line at this point.
Do you really think that Babcock would try to motivate the team through media? We have no idea how the things are and what is said in the locker room. It seems to me that some fans think this game is some sort of a movie where actors/athletes need to show their emotions directly to the camera/fans in order to create proper amount of drama.
I don't expect him to go all "Torts" and start a s***storm, but his teams desire isn't there and whatever he's doing behind the scenes isn't working. I like Babs, but maybe he needs to be more straight forward and not so passive aggressive.
As for the team, everyone knows how bad they're playing. People at work who don't even follow hockey are asking me what's going on with them. Being the talk of the league for being bad should be motivation enough, but who knows . . .

so we still have:
- a mediocre PP that is desperately lacking a right-handed shooter - a dogs*** 4th line that plays 5 minutes a night - only 2 guys that can actually win a faceoff
wonderful.
I hate biting on this, but GTFO. Either your parents need to take your computer away, beat you, or both.
GO ROOT FOR ANOTHER TEAM IF THIS IS SO BAD.
That goes for you, too, Korrowan and Leonard. No wonder everyone thinks Wings fans are *******.

i can't wait to see the wings do absolutely nothing today. so glad they have all that cap space.
I'm considering offering you to the Jackets board in return for one fan who has been patient through all of their misery and would appreciate the s*** out of rooting for a team like the Wings. But I wouldn't do that to them, hell, I wouldn't even wish you on the Sharks.

Eh, Vancouver probably deserves to win but when you have that lead in your house with 30 seconds left with that crowd behind you, you don't give up that goal under any circumstance.
I'm going to have Burrows breaking that stick burnt into my mind for some time now.

I'm okay with this deal. Ignore that he is a former Wings cast off and look at the fact that they got a legit top 4 D-man to jump right in and play along side dips***.
Detroit is close right now and I have no issues sending off a late first for someone who can come in RIGHT NOW and make an impact.
I love how everyone praises Holland for his success building Cup winning teams but everyone is ready to throw him under the bus every time he makes a deal for someone who isn't Parise or Doughty.

Me too! I was just saying that they take this sport way serious to want to permanantly put their logo on themselves, but I did say that they all look awesome, just not my cup of tea...oh well, as usual if someone doesn't live and breathe Red Wings 24/7 and think that if the Red Wings didn't exist then the world would end, then they aren't really a fan...
Oh well, still some nice tattoos.
I understand why people don't want tattoos, particularly of sports teams. I'm not going to go on a Miami Ink-ish type rant about what my tattoos mean, but to sum it up, I just get stuff that I like or define who I am tattooed on me. I can look at everything that I have and acknowledge how I felt and where I was in life when I got it, it's like a timeline. Everyone knows me as someone who is passionate about sports and as I really do live and breathe the teams I like, I have the logos of the teams that I love.
People are allowed their own level of fandom. I will never judge anyone as being a bandwagoner, casual or even a psycho about it like myself (it almost takes the fun out of it).
I guess I'm ranting because I get told that I'm dumb a lot for getting sports related tattoos, but to each their own. People should be able to do what they want to do without getting s*** for it.
