#1976766 Why is Howard still in the net?

Posted by Wing_Nut on 05 May 2010 - 03:37 PM

After seeing last nights game, I cant believe Bab's would continue to play this rookie. Howard has cost us every game of this series so far. We would have been out the first round against the Coyotes if it wasn't for the offense keeping it out of our zone. Don't bench Howard GET RID OF HIM! He plays way too aggressively, pay attention to how far out of the net he plays, if he wants to go get a hot dog so bad - I say let him. He gives all the opportunity in the world for the rebound shot. We are really missing out not playing OZ. He has brought us to the cup in the past, he is proven and capable of stopping shots - So, I guess that's why he's not being played, right?

Eh, every team has to deal with bad calls. Hockey is a fast game, and mistakes will be made.

If you want to blame the refs for the loss go ahead, I tend to blame it on 3 goals in less than a 2 minute strech in the first period.

aside from the clusterf*** of 3 goals, the sharks haven't done anything great since. If the Wings can get a quick one here, I think they have a great shot of winning, they have had some great chances, just need to start capitalizing more.

#1933839 Where will the Wings play next year?

I hope you're right about the lease on the Joe, but the thought of sharing an arena is nauseating. We need a hockey-only venue. This is Hockeytown. I don't want to see any stupid basketball murals/banners/merchandise when I go to a Wings game. If there has to be a new arena, it needs to be a gem and a shrine to hockey in Detroit. I'm in favor of a modern Olympia. Something with character.

Almost every city that has both has a shared arena its dumb business not too. I feel the same way about it but there's not much you can do. Hell if the Leafs an original six team can share so can we

The Wings and Habs are the only Original Six teams NOT to share an arena (and Montreal lacks an NBA counterpart), but there's no need for the Pistons to move. This should be a Wings-only venture and if we want to lay claim to being "Hockeytown" then we should be able to build an arena that is befitting of that title. Something that is to hockey what Camden Yards was to baseball in the early 90s.
