Do the words "Jersey Foul" mean anything to you?

Please, please, please, let Homer retire and get a job as the Habs head coach.

#2237011 Patrick Eaves shopping

Posted by 55fan on 18 December 2011 - 08:42 AM

There were shoes?

Sorry, I may be a chick, but I have no interest in shopping or shoes. I did like seeing Patrick Eaves though; I am, after all, a chick. :P

#2236654 Mike Milbury charged with assault

Posted by 55fan on 17 December 2011 - 09:24 AM

I was thinking about this last night. There are a few times when I've had to break up fights (never between grown men who were armed, fortunately) and I started thinking about the logistics.

You start by yelling at them to "BREAK IT UP" or some such thing. If they don't, you get between them, and if that doesn't do it, you face the aggressor (or the one who won't stop, or the stronger one) and usually end up putting your hands on his shoulders to restrain him from hitting the other child.

Now imagine that on skates. Ice is slippery. If a kid is flailing about trying to hit someone, and you are trying to prevent it, that child will get shaken pretty well just trying to remain upright.

One may not grab someone else's child to discipline the kid, but if you are breaking up a fight, you don't really have a choice. You have to defend another child.

I had to learn "therapeutic intervention" techniques for dealing with vulnerable adults who could become violent. The main trick was to restrain them without hurting them, without letting someone else get hurt, and if at all possible, without getting hurt yourself. It's a lot harder than it sounds.

If you try to restrain someone who is seriously agitated, it does look from a distance like you are shaking them, when really it is their actions that cause the motions.

Like I said before, I think Milbury's an ass. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

I have a thing for Anze Kopitar. Yeah, I know. I don't care. I think he's sexy. So there. :P

So how did Bert figure out that you were his stalker, Kristi? And when are you going to return his underwear? And did he notice when you removed them, or did it take him until his next trip to the bathroom?

I'll meet them half-way. They can wear a Steve Yzerman autographed suit and tie.

The jersey is OURS.

Let's go Wings!

Winning is good.
Winning is nice.
Winning is best
When done in the ice.

Thank you. Thank you very much. You're beautiful.

#2235881 Good game, good game, good game...

Aw, that is so cute. They need to get scolded and told that this sort of thing should not happen after the whistles. Then they need to be watched to see if they get any sort of high-end talent that we can draft.

Good to see the little guys standing up for themselves. People just don't do that any more.

Well, hope Fleury is enjoying his shutout.

Oops, didn't mean to jinx him or anything.

Called in sick today.

Go Wings. Kick some butt!

No, wait. With the Pens, butts are considered head shots.

Ok then, Go Wings! Score lots of goals!

#2235004 Dodge Ram Red Wings Edition

I had a Ram once. Good truck, although I'm a Ford gal.

If I were going to get rid of Stevie (my F-150), and if I had the cash, I'd sure go for it.

Helm thinks he has a hat trick of empty netters, but it turns out that he is so fast that he beat the goalie to the net at the beginning of each period.

The goals are called back due to the fact that his speed involves going backwards in time, and therefore the goals occurred during the intermission or before the game.

Homer understands Helm's pain and offers condolences. Helm does not understand Homer's condolences, but appreciates the effort.

In the meantime, Stuie and Kronner each score a goal and the Wings win 2-0.
