#2298263 #4 Nashville Predators vs. #3 Phoenix Coyotes

Posted by esteef on 30 April 2012 - 12:28 PM

Don't the Coyotes avg like 6 or 7 thousand to a game? f*** my local college get that many people for there games!

Didn't look like it the other night. Point is, other teams have attendance problems when they suck for a while too (Dead Things era) but don't get near the crap that Phoenix gets about their "fanbase". Is it a traditional hockey market? No. But they have just as many interested fans as anywhere else.

edit: according to ESPN it's about 12,420.

It's time to go with the youth and get bigger and stronger. Bert,Homer and Lidstrom all need to retire. Hudler needs to go play in midget league.
Howard needs another goalie to push him for the starting job.

It's cute to see the Red Wings fans getting all excited about this toy tantrum Bertuzzi threw.

I mean that's really all you have to smile about seeing as you're down 2-1, very possibly 3-1 after tomorrow night before heading back to "CAPITOL OF HICKVILLE" ... lol Capitol...and we're uneducated?

Continue being immature like your players and enjoy the off season :D

They don't travel with their own table? Amateurs.

do the wings travel with their own ping pong table

I don't think he would care about that. I think the point of it was, "don't use our s***." You can play your wiffleball all you want.

that ping pong table might of had a red wing germs on it,so i am glad that bertuzzi took it,would not want the preds players to catch something before they take game 4 tomorrow

Dave Strader (who many of us remember well) is covering the series for NBCSports. He reports that after the morning skate today the Preds were using the ping pong tables outside the dressing rooms to relax. Big Bert stepped out, told them that if they wanted to play ping-pong, they'd have to bring their own table; then he folded the table up and wheeled it into the Wings room. CLASSIC!

#2288845 Retribution for clean hits...

Posted by TheWolf on 16 April 2012 - 10:40 AM

That's exactly the point. When someone on your team gets hit hard....clean or not, you want to send a message that they will need to pay whenever they do that.....try to deter hitting the future, that's exactly what they are trying to accomplish. To be honest, I'd be unhappy if my team didn't respond to hard hits, you have to show that you won't get pushed around.

Another thing to think about....I bet that hit isn't made of it wasn't Sedin...they target star players and try to punish them, you need to respond. If the hit is dirty, the response would be a lot more violent.

I passionately disagree with this. What, so a guy makes a body check or hip check, and then he should be ready to get punched in the face for making a HOCKEY play?
I was always told if someone made a clean hit, line him up for a clean one of your own.

Is this the kind of stuff you want to see?

The rough stuff after a clean hit is fine...and often necessary.

You have to let the other team know know that if they do that stuff, they are going to have to answer for it.
Clean hit or not, you don't want the other team thinking they can dish out hard hits all game long without repercussion...so next time, maybe they think twice about dishing out a hard hit.

It's all about team toughness and sticking up for your teammates.

#2283090 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

Posted by Hairy Lime on 11 April 2012 - 10:33 PM

Hank initiated it. Yeah, Weber did not need to slam his head into the glass, but I doubt he'll be suspended. Bert had a chance to do something, but did not. Maybe he didn't see the play, but I doubt he would of done anything even if he had. This team is neutered. But there is next game. Let's see how this team responds. Here's my bet: nobody on Detroit get's in Weber's face. That's easy money!

so your position is that while pushing Zetterberg's face into the glass, Weber thought about how the league is cracking down on headshots these days and so he decided to let up?

if weber would have connected with anything of extreme malice he would have koed z and sent him off on a stretcher. It is a plain and simple concept that some people here don't understand.

Yeah, diving is TOTALLY the problem here. Darn that Zetterberg, smashing his own head against the glass! It's an abomination!

he didn't smash his head against the glass, it jsut wasn't hard and he sold the injury, he wasn't injured.

Are you Frakking kidding me? You are saying the punch then slamming his head into the boards was Hank Selling it? He must have done a GREAT job being down for a good minute or two after the game, and ohh yeah the Linesmen coming RIGHT over to get in between webber....I sometimes find it hard to believe you are a Wings fan with your comments...

it wasn't that hard, if weber really hit him z would be done.

Well, Moen KO'd him in a fight. Fistric is a big hitter, but I'm not sure we ever pursued him. Plus, he can't fight.

I really hope Ericsson challenges Weber next game.

Fistric hammered weber this year and gave him a concussion

it wasn't that bad, hank was selling it, but the fact that it happened at the end of the game was bogus

#2280567 Stand behind your Wings!

Posted by Nightfall on 09 April 2012 - 01:46 PM

:siren: Its playoff time. :siren:

Thats right Red Wings fans. Its the most wonderful time of the year for hockey fans. I am calling for all Wings fans to rally together and support their team. This is the team that was #1 in the NHL before the rash of injuries hampered the team. This was the team that won 23 consecutive home games in a row this season. This is also the team that is going to contend for the Stanley Cup for the 21st season in a row.

If you are a negative Nancy or a Wings "fan" that sees the team bowing out in five or six games, please do not apply.

I am calling for all fans of this team to stand up and stand behind their team. We have enjoyed the four cups in the last fifteen years, and we support this organizations decision making. We also support the players, even if they make mistakes. After all, mistakes are all part of being human. In the end, no matter what, win or lose, we support this team and the organization.

Stand behind your Wings as we embark on this playoff journey. Foster positive discussions without bailing on your team. Do not be afraid to constructively criticize the team either, but keep your remarks away from the "Wings are done" comments.

Its time! Drop the puck!

#2275435 this team is soft

goalie gets ran, and getting our asses kicked by the worst team in the league and no one is angry enough to go after the guy. This is hockey, and its infuriating that this team is filled with wimps.
