#2434787 Good things happening in Detroit

Posted by Detroit Fire Sheryl on 03 September 2013 - 07:35 AM

I am one of the coordinators of this event.

We organized the entire thing in only 3 days, so I doubt that any of the players were even aware it was taking place.

We are very grateful to have the Wings organization for the smoke detector donation.

Bogosian and James Neal. No time to set up trade possibilities - we don't have the assets for both either.

2 weeks until training camps start.

Can we just bask in this for a moment?

Pavel wants to travel in a modern aircraft that has a 99.99999% chance of not crashing.

Too soon?

The moment Brunner fields his first call from another team he is gone IMO

Good for him.  I knew he did the smoke detector thing, but I didn't know he provided drinking water for people in Africa.

He just keeps getting better every time I hear something about him.

#2417120 WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Posted by vladdy16 on 02 June 2013 - 04:02 PM

You do know Hossa tripped over The net/quicks stick right?  Hossa the strongest guy on skates in the NHL and he was on YOUR Team playing like this before and you want to call him a diver. lol.  pathetic.

You do know that Hossa is the best salesman in the NHL, right?  It's not just fans on a message board, it's the players calling him out.  But I guess they don't know anything about the game either, right?

I think a better definition of pathetic is coming to a Wings board when we're no longer playing and "defending" your team.  Why do you care what a bunch of Wings fan say, anyway?  We're not even in the same conference anymore.  You don't have to worry about Detroit until if you make the SCF.

And while you're at it, why don't you guys try and come up with something else to chant at your games before you all redefine "pathetic."

A final between Chicago and Pittsburgh.  What do I choose?

A bullet.

#2408653 WCSF Game 3 GDT - Blackhawks 1 @ Red Wings 3 - (DET leads series 2-1)

Posted by AusWing40 on 20 May 2013 - 10:32 PM

Words can't describe how proud I am of this team.

Lidstrom and Stuart gone, we wouldn't be able to make playoffs.

A ton of injuries during the season, to the extent we had to sign Huskins on game day and fly him in hours before.

Had to win just to make playoffs.

Couldn't beat the ducks. Did it in 7!

Don't belong on the same ice as Chicago. Currently leading the series 2-1, out scored them 8-3.

This team has gone far and above any of our expectations. I was happy we pushes the sucks to a game 7. To be competitive. Then we won the series.

I was worried coming up against Chicago. Thought their depth would be too much. We have dominated a game against them in their own arena. They're losing their composure.

Enjoy the ride, who knows where this can go. Unbelievable effort to have done as well as we have so far, keep it up boys!

#2400710 WCQF Game 6 GDT : Ducks 3 at Red Wings 4 (OT) - (Series Tied 3-3)

Posted by marcaractac on 09 May 2013 - 07:12 PM

No matter what happens, I'm proud of this team. With all the changes, all the kids, and the short season with next to no training camp and no pre season. The way they responded when in a situation where they had to win out the last 4 games of the season just to make the playoffs. Having the kids learn playoff intensity on the fly and make this a hell of a series that WILL go to game 7.

Love the direction this Wings squad is going, and even if no moves are made, this team will be even better next year.

When most teams rebuild, they dwell in the basement for a few seasons. When the Wings rebuild, we give the #2 seed all they can handle in the playoffs. And when we force game 7, anything can happen! BELIEVE

#2390454 4/27 GDT - Red Wings 3 @ Stars 0

Posted by Jersey Wing on 27 April 2013 - 01:08 AM

There's a REASON the Wings haven't missed the playoffs since 89-90. There's a REASON they're going to go to Dallas and get a point or two and keep the streak alive. The REASON is they're the Detroit Red Wings. There's a pride inside the sweater you don't always see elsewhere. I'd be stunned if they didn't win tonight.

Get the Photoshop thread ready, I wanna destroy Patrick Kane

#2376409 Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Edited the thread title to be less obnoxious.

I understand not liking Crosby, but celebrating that he got hit in the face with the puck is lame.

I can't see them trading Horton as they feel they can win it

#2337624 NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*

Red Wings' Daniel Cleary cautions players to keep opinions to themselves:

http://blogs.windsor...-to-themselves/

“This is a very sensitive time in negotiation and it’s very important, and we don’t need any antics from anybody as far as anyone getting upset,” Cleary said.

I have a feeling it'll come out of nowhere if a deal is done or the season is cancelled.

Agreed. After how no one knew about the mediator in the bargaining room until Bettman said it, no one has a clue of what's really going on. I suppose only the 10 or so players, Fehr, Bettman, rest of NHL officials know exactly what the real problems are. And I remember the 2005 NHL lockout unexpectedly ending at midnight. The 2011 NBA lockout ended at like 3 AM ET, few hours after ESPN twitter sources reported that "not much" was going on.
