He even turns to show the crowd the winged wheel. I don't know if we should read so deep into it and say it's a sign of "the logo on the front, not the name on the back," but it's possible. He was probably just excited and wanted to grab onto something. We've never heard of him being hard to play with, I just got really excited when he did. We could use somebody who shows emotion.
Also, how about all these one timer goals we seem to be having lately? Offense seems to be on fire with those shots.
It's like we have multiple Brett Hull's out there. I love that they're finally taking one-timers, it seems like we hardly ever see that anymore from the Wings. That's why I think we need to lock up Eaves, he does them well and has a rocket of a shot. People always talk about putting Modano or Ericsson on the point on the power play, but it never pans out. What about Eaves? He has that shot and he's defensively responsible.
Also, I think Draper needs to get some attention here. The guy has been great since he came back. A little quiet some of the time, but not hurting the team at all, and lately he's been taking those wicked one-timers in front of the net.
Really don't like him, but anyone in this situation deserves support. Good for him for recognizing a problem and attempting to control it. Good luck to him.
All this talk about call-ups, have people forgotten we've got an extra player already called up? We rotate Eaves-Draper-Miller. Now they can all play. If someone does get called up they'll hardly ever play, if at all.
Yep, if Howard wouldn't have sucked and posted a shutout, the Wings would have won 0-0
+1
If Howard wouldn't have sucked, the Wings could have lost a more respectable 1-0 or 2-0. Or, not being scored on like a 17 year old cheerleader might not shake their confidence and they could've scored a few times.
I completely agree. The human eye doesn't work the way so called 3D looks. It looks like a bunch of flat plastic transluscent 2-d cutouts, or some old viewmaster crap in HD. In fact it sucks compared to HD, for example, watching Avatar in HD is far more detailed and looks more realistic than that 2-D 3D crap, you cant stare at the foreground things (which look flat) without noticing that the background becomes kind of lost, or blurry in some cases.
People are going to be even more pissed when they find out they bought 3D tvs for alot of money and wasted tons on glasses, that will be obsolete when the Yamaha, and/or Panasonic come out with thei GLASSLESS 3D tvs in 2011. Even then, it will become obsolete IMHO. HD is just catching on, and it looks more real. Even if 3d were good, it would have a hard time catching on when people just bought HDTV's.
GO WINGS
I don't get all the hate about 3D. It's not the '50s "jump out at you" 3D, it's an immersive environment, at least when done right (ala Avatar). That kind of 3D is awesome and I think everything should be broadcast like that before too long, it paves the way for holographic viewing. It just adds so much depth to everything.
That being said, it won't catch on until the glasses-less TVs come out next year and even then until they go down in price and more stuff is offered in 3D.
I want to see Osgood get another consecutive start, and then go 50/50 with Howard. Osgood needs to get into a groove, we know Howard can pop back in at any time and play fine, so now that Ozzie had a great game, let's see if he has more in the tank before going back to Howard.
No way we could get him. But honestly, I hope we trade Hudler. Like you said, he walks when his contract is up and for once I'd like to see us get a player in return instead of just losing people.
I think the defense needs a serious slap in the face. But it's not just them. Why is it every time we pass the puck it goes straight to an Atlanta player, and every time a Wing has the puck he ends up having it bounce over his stick?
Just a game full of bad breaks, made worse by bad defense and no offense.
Wow they really made Ovechkin look good there. No way that flies on a team that actually works hard. Both of those guys could have stopped that even after Ovechkin blew past them.
