#2263366 2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

Did I say the team has no needs? You listen/read as well as a child too.

so exactly what was your problem with my statement? i don't want holland to sit on this cap space when the team has obvious needs to address.

do you disagree with that?

or did you want to insult me again? i'd report those posts to a mod, but oh, what a surprise...you are one!

I'm considering offering you to the Jackets board in return for one fan who has been patient through all of their misery and would appreciate the s*** out of rooting for a team like the Wings. But I wouldn't do that to them, hell, I wouldn't even wish you on the Sharks.

i have a NMC, sorry.

"Fans" like you are so ignorant and childish.

the team has no needs, right? sure.

I would love Holland to make any kind of trade just to shut you up.

don't get your hopes up, pal.

#2261970 Mass Effect 3

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 24 February 2012 - 04:29 AM

It's less than two weeks away, get excited. I'm a fanatic of the series and i'm thrilled that Mass Effect 3 is almost here, with the inclusion of multiplayer i'm anticipating an epic conclusion in a deep narrative experience.

For those who weren't aware, the demo is available now for download on the Xbox Marketplace and on PS Network. It's free so even if you don't think this is your type of game, try it anyway. The entire series is worth playing through because it's truly a game like nothing else out there and continues to impress. Mass Effect 2 was a masterpiece and deserved all of it's recognition for Game of the Year.

Let the countdown begin, everything and anything Mass Effect post it up here.

#2236677 Mike Babcock praises Red Wings' physical game

Posted by newfy on 17 December 2011 - 12:39 PM

Babcock gets it.

It seems when this team is losing (which isnt often now but in the past) they continually try to keep skilling their way around the rink even when it isnt working. WHich is very frustrating to watch.

I still think if this team had a bit tougher bottom 6 and replaced guys like Emmerton or Miller who try to do the skill thing and cant play physical very well at all (especially Emmerton)the wings would be better off. Its not impossible to find guys who can play hockey and be tough to play against. Its not about finding a Milan Lucic, but there are guys out there that could play as much as Miller and Emmerton and be just as effective while providing the ability to set a physical tone. Kenny should be looking at Gaustad, Moen and Prust this offseason.

There are other options and as much as people hate Tootoo, he has been playing great hockey and could be that physical spark Detroit needs.

Daniel Winnik or Cody Mcleod could be good as well.

I will say that the D is probably one of the more physical in the league actually and is pretty good in that regard now but the forwards need something. Any those guys above on the fourth line could help, or putting Shane Doan in the top 6 could as well.

I know I'm gonna take heat for suggesting Tootoo because I know how everyone feels about him but hes already got 13 points and plays a very physical game. He also hasnt done anything cheap this year. He hit Miller but he was driving to the net hard.

EDIT: -2 already LGW doesnt take long to disappoint. I'm assuming this is about what I said regarding Tootoo. Do any of you take the time to realize hes actually only 6 points off of what Abdelkader and Miller produced all of last season.

The guy seemed to really turn the corner as a player instead of just a goon out there but oh well, you guys think what you want haha

The rest of us shouldn't have to deal with it? Is there a banhammer to be had?

nothing i posted is ban-worthy. calling me a dickhead might be, though.

right. like you couldn't possibly have predicted the reaction you got from your post.

It's a thread about a long-time Red Wing player retiring, and you posted about how happy it made you. You were trolling and it worked. Congrats.

there are some that feel the same way as i do. my post got a couple +1s before the -1 bombardment.

I am so pissed at the writer of Puck Daddy right now choosing to attack Osgood at this time and say he needed to go and that there is no question he is not a HoF goalie, and there is no question he doesn't belong. I mean, you can save your opinion for a bit until after he is done retiring ****.

Go f*** yourself. I know I am not reading his s*** again.

Happy about this personally. He's brought so much to our team already and can be a great mentor for Jimmy.

He's still only our number 2 goalie, its not like we're counting on him night in and night out.

Also, there literally isn't anyone better out there that we can sign.

Hope it is indeed a 1 year contract announced tomorrow, and he has a great final season of an incredible career.

#2183932 Thoughts on Sami Salo?

Posted by T.Low on 09 June 2011 - 02:13 AM

I'd say it's implied that we're not just talking about Salo in a vacum, we're talking about him in comparision to other options. If you rip a guy apart like whoever did, I'd hope that you have a better option in mind...and I'd genuinely like to hear about it.

What are your thoughts on free-agent to be Nick Lidstrom??

"He's over the hill, lost a step, hardly ever hits anyone, and is bound to get hurt at almost 40 years old. Six plus million for that!? You've gotta be kidding me!!"

...get my point.

Possibly, if there weren't already 1/2 a dozen threads camparing alternatives, but even then you don't have to give the guy attitude.

But there are 1/2 dozen threads already comparing all available options and combinations, and like I said, you specifically asked about people's thoughts on one player. Don't get mad at him because he answered your question correctly and it made you look stupid; get mad at yourself.

I need to just stay away from your threads because I don't agree with the way you think and your crappy replies you give to people. (Not to mention that wanting Holmstrom on the 4rth line shows you really don't get it--it's never going to be 2002 again--the 4rth line has a different job now, and he can't perform it).) I used to join in all your line threads, because i could look over lines all day long, every day. People would give you crap all the time, but I kept joning in, until you gave me a real unprovoked and uncalled for crappy reply on one of my threads. Now I just think you're a **** that really doesn't understand much about hockey at all, or people for that matter.

Your OP only asked for thoughts on Salo, and DetroitFan gave you his thoughts backed up by three sound reasons, and you got mad and pissy with your repsonse.

And further more, it's not bridging a gap until Suter gets here, it's wasting money while Salo sits injured when we could be getting good production out of someone else.

Yes, it's a quandry, but Salo (or Jovo for that matter) is not the answer.
