Rumor: Franzen Out with Possible Blood Clot?

I guess this was not his first set of "tests", they were actually a second or third (I don't know specifically). Turns out that when he initially reported the problems they ran tests, got results back which caused whomever in charge to conclude it was a blood clot. The Wings and Franzen wanted a second opinion, hence the "awaiting results". They are awaiting results that hopefully will contradict the first specialist (this is not uncommon in medical practice for sorts stars or anyone for that matter, that is getting a second opinion for such a serious diagnosis.) No need to scream me down here, I am just telling you what I was filled in on from someone very close (or claim to be) with some aspect of the medical personnel involved here. Either eay they will be announcing his return or "out for the series" status Tuesday or Wed. Once again don't shoot the messenger, also I want to say that I wouldn't have tossed this up unless it was good information. Either way take it for what its worth.

Downey wins "Most Improved/Comeback Fighter" of the Year

It also should be noted that Detroit finally broke its streak of winning the "Worst Enforcing Team in the League" award, which it won the past 2 seasons. This year Montreal took the honors.
  3. I don't know if this has been posted or not, it wouldn't surprise me if it has. But either way I figured it would be worth putting up again that with the polls about to close Aaron Downey has absolutely run away with the "Most Improved/Comeback Fighter" of the year category over at Hockefight.com's end of the year award voting. He has over 50% of the total votes which is something especially seeing as though there is 6 candidates in the category. Here is the link if you are interested: -2007-08 Most Improved/Comeback Fighter

    Quebec to ban fighting

I don't think it will happen, not in the Q at least. I can't imagine too many people involved in the league (which is known for its fighting and skill) including the fans would be about a ban.

My Mom Just Ran Into Darren McCarty

Ha Ha if you are talking about the joke about McCarty being roughed up by MGM casino security guards, then yes, that was me. However I don't really see how my attempt at satire (regardless if you found it funny) has anything to do with the story. That beings said, I could really care less what you think of me. You are a nobody who is insignificant in every possible way to both me, and I would be willing to bet the same goes for everyone else who encounters you. How about you think about it, and then go play in traffic for me. OK? ****** bag...

My Mom Just Ran Into Darren McCarty

Hye I just got off the phone with my mom and she was telling me how she just ran into none other the Darren McCarty downton at the Blue Cross Blue Shield building. They got to talking and what not, basically she was telling him about me, and my rabid love of the Red Wings, but then they got to the subject of his return. She said as he was leaving he stopped and looked back and told her, "hey, tell your son to look for me Friday night." So there you have it. Darren McCarty tells my mom to tell me, and in return tell you, that he will be back Friday night.

3/16 GDT: Blue Jackets 4, Red Wings 3

THIS JUST IN THIS JUST IN, McCARTY's RIB INJURY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOCKEY. It turns out 'ole D-Mac had one to many "colas" at MGM and got in a little rut he couldn't quite foot the bill for. Turns out the security roughed him in the back alley, they were heard screaming to which Darren replied, Reports say the injury could be worse then expected, and below are actual pictures of the incident which took place only a week ago:

No, well not if you are referencing fighting. Granted fighting in the playoffs decreases (but not all together) if we have to decide between one of the two for pure "enforcer" status it would be Downey. That said, it's the Red Wings, and it simply won't happen. When you think about it we really could dress both of them, I mean say what you will about Downey but at least he offers the possibility of doing something, where as guys like Maltby who is absolutely WORTHLESS, I mean jesus, I hear everyone getting on Sammy's back (which they should he is about as bad as Maltby) but due the fact Malts helped us win a cup 6+ years ago he seems to get a virtual pass on his worthlessness. Sorry about that little tangent, it's a touchy subject. lol I think we may see Downey a game here and there in the first round, possibly the second, and if we do make it to the WCF I think he will be helping the team from the press box. Which is fine, he did his job when he had to. But who knows I guess we'll wait and see.

also would like to point out something I posted about a couple days ago, well, to be exact, it was minutes after our loss to Nashville. However due to the "fair tratment" which shown around here, the post was quickly deleted. It's ironic because the post was in ragrds to lack of the Wings ability to win game when my man with a plan Aaron Downey is out of the lineup. WE NEED HIM BABY!!!! he needs to shake that flu bug and get back ASAP, cause the wings NEED him to win. THATS A FACT JACK!

ha ha, do you feel good about yourself, I mean you know, the insult it took you 2 1/2 hours to think up kind of fell short, but hey, you get an A for effort their little buddy. Do you really want to do a spelling critique of each other? I mean I don't, this is a forum, and its a Sunday, the last thing I want to be spending my time is pointing out obviously mis spelled words in a setting where grammar isn't really that prevalent, or stressed. However, if you would like to talk about hockey, I am fine with that. OK, ASH-HOLE. lol, see I can think of some "witty" comebacks too ya little whipper snapper! PS- I know you were trying be funny, but the fact that you used my misspelling of "Shannahan?" which clearly is incorrect, but still quite clear to whom I am referring to kind of makes ya look like a bigger ****** then you already did. Just thought I would point that out to ya. OHHH YAAA, I also would like to point out something I posted about a couple days ago, well, to be exact, it was minutes after our loss to Nashville. That SWE in your name wouldn't stand for Sweden would it? If it does your response, although incredibly asinine (ya, thats exactly what he meant when he said 'useless guys like Hudler', you saw right through him. He really meant Lidstron, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Rafalski, Cleary, Holmstron, et cetera). You idiot. It's called balance, I know you don't like that kind of chemistry on a team, and people like you have a perception that the only acceptable "tough" guy is someone like Shannahan (who happens to be your types de facto 'fighter' litmus test) Well guess what, there ain't many like him, theres a reason he's going to the hall of fame. So please get off the repetitive, and ignorant argument that the only tough guy worth having is a "Shannahan type player". That said, I will also stop you before you can even say it. Cleary is not a "tough guy", yes he is tough, and he has more heart then 99% of players in the league, but that does not qualify him as a "team tough guy" in the sense that us NA hockey fans, or at least some of us, speak of. Definitely a guy I wouldn't get rid of though, guys like him usually end up being the staples in Stanley cup winning teams.

Ha ha is that so. Well you have it good, some people are forced to live knowing they are bat sh*t crazy, it seems you don't seem to have that problem. you are funny, naive and clueless regarding the NHL, but in a amusing, "ha ha" kind of way.

Ha ha, with fighting up double digits, and the league getting back to a grittier NA style you claim that Downey and Drake are not needed. Okie dokie, Drake, fine, but then bring in someone with a sliver of grit. Look at it this way, in a perfect world, you know, a little utopia of open ice, no contact hockey, that line up would be perfect. Unfortunately, we don't live in a utopia, and the game isn't played that way. OMG, I forgot to mention you say bye bye to Stuart too. HAHAHAHA, the lineup you propose has the grit of a pee wee house team. Bahahahaha. I am not being factious here, I truly am laughing really hard, so hard that all I can do is type hahaha, b/c the tears in my eyes are taking away from anything substantive I wanted to write.
