I do believe I would sooner rip out my eyeballs. listen to Celine Dion sing, watch Justin Timberlake act THAN listen to Ed Olczyk and his biased pro SH#ITHAWKS announcing.  I plan on muting NBC on tv and listening to Ken Kal on radio. Otherwise I may vomit to death.

It's bonus time right now folks.  I'm just enjoying the ride.  No pressure on this team.  Chicago is overrated.  They can't rely on the shootout in the playoffs.

I'd like to see Minny miss the playoffs just to shove it up that fraud centcougar's ass.

Nobody circles the wagons like the Detroit Red Wings!  I still like our chances.  The Wings have to look at it this way...win all 5 games left and we're in.  Who care what Columbus and Dallas do.  We have 2 games in hand on Columbus and they are only 2 points ahead of us.  Dallas is tied with us owning the Wins in Regulation tiebreaker.  However they have a very tough 4 games.  At STL, SJ and LA and home against us.  Stay positive folks.  I know it's tough right now.  But I still believe in this team and I know Dats, Z, Kron and Jimmy wlll step up.  I also have a feeling playoff Mule will return.  We ARE going to make the playoffs.  If you don't believe in this team then get the ?%& out!  LOL  Just kidding.  But seriously GET THE...hahahaha

Why would Holland retire?  Because some posters on a Red Wings message board want him to?     He isn't going anywhere.  If you can't handle seeing Kenny Holland being the GM of the Red Wings then maybe it's time to start cheering for another team.  If it bothers you that much. 

Feaster tried to sign Danny to an offer sheet but was told that he was not allowed to do so.  Chiarelli also called Danny and was told he had a short list of 4 teams and that Boston was on it but not really.  Stevie talked to Danny and tried to convince him that Marty St. Louis was really his dad and that it would be in his best interest to be re-united with him.  It's tough being an NHL GM...

Can the Tigers sign Danny to be the closer?

He has to clear it with Bettman that he is allowed to sign with a team which is not the Pittsburgh Penguins.  This could take awhile.  Gary has to call Sid first and make sure it's ok that Danny sign with a different team.

Well if he wants north of 5 mil a season then I can understand Kenny not re-signing him now.  I like Flip's game but he is simply not worth this salary.

 

According to Khan, Filppula is looking for $5mil+ per year...if that's the case, they should trade him now while they can still get something.

My prediction...

 

NHLPA comes back with a counter offer which Bettman says is unacceptable.  Bettman declares NHLs last offer to be their final one take it or leave it.  Daly says the league has rented a hill in Italy in which they are prepared to die on if Fehr does not accept it.  Fehr responds by saying that the players will not be strongarmed into accepting an unacceptable deal and that it is up to the NHL to bargain in good faith.  Nothing will be done over the next 2 weeks.  The season will be cancelled on January 14th and Bettman will be open to using replacement players.  Former NHLers Chris Chelios and Dominik Hasek will make their returns and a whole new league will be born.  The players will form their own league and call it the SCHL.  The Sidney Crosby Hockey League.  Sid will be allowed to war his full hockey equipment with his baseball cap pulled down to his crotch.  One of the new rules will be a lifetime ban if Sid is hit.  Bettman will go to the media and say that the new replacement players are just as good as the former NHLers.  Fehr will say the SCHL is the best league ever and that there are immediate plans for expansion in the Sahara Desert so long as all the Arabs agree to make whole with 3 million camels.

Forsberg, Kariya,...Oh you mean current players.  Any player with a Canucks or Sharks logo on it.

The pattern seems to be something like this...

NHL makes offer.  NHLPA accepts NHL's concessions and dresses up counter proposal basically giving up nothing.  Players keeps saying 'we agreed to 50-50' when really they didn't.  If you look closely enough at what exactly the NHLPA has been offering, it is still around 55-57%.  So the NHL then gets mad and Bettman throws a hissy fit and Daly says dumb things like 'this is the hill we will die on.'  Neither side talks for a week or 2 and then the NHL comes back with another offer.  The NHLPA responds the same way they have all along.  During this process we see things such as...Crosby standing behind Fehr with his baseball cap pulled down to his crotch saying things like 'we have made fair offers and the owners have done nothing and we can't negotiate with an unwilling partner.'  Daly (Elmer Fudd) basically does most of the talking to the media because Bettman is too angry to speak apparently.Billionaires fighting with millionaires.  It's impossible for me to feel sorry for any of these guys.  I mean seriously, how to these guys NOT get a deal done?  Bettman is making 8 mil and I am surre Fehr is not starving.  These guys are PAID to negotiate a deal and yet all they do is whine back and forth.  What gets me the most is the time wasted in all of this.  When the NFL and NFL union were negotiating back and forth, at least they were talking around the clock EVERY DAY.  These twits can't even talk most of the time.  And when they do, they get mediators involved and go through the motions.  "I want this, this and that.  Well I want that, that and this."  Oh now I am so mad I can't talk anymore.  I may get back to the table if I feel like it in a week or so."  Both sides are deadline hunting.  Things will not get serious until the last minute in mid January.  Then when  Fehr offers the same thing only dressed up differently and Bettman throws his 67th hissy fit, there will be NO time to negotiate an actual deal.  Too much time wasted. No momentum made.  No real negotiating done.  It's like when you're in school and you wait until the last minute to study for a test but instead you go to Game 7 Wings vs Leafs at the Joe in 1993 and watch in horror as NIk the Stik scores the game winning goal.  Oh wait never mind...What was I saying?  Both sides are morons.  The NHL IS and has always been its own worst enemy.  I think Babs may be right.  The NHL when it does come back, may be as popular as bowling in the US.  The NHL is not a 3 billion dollar industry anymore that's for sure.  And whose fault is it?  Bunch of clowns.

It seems each time the NHL makes an offer and makes some concessions the NHLPA responds with basically the same offers they have been making to the NHL all along only dressed up differently.  I am surprised the NHL has actually kept making all these offers.  I hate to say it but if I were an NHL owner, I would have told Bettman to axe the season months ago.  I just shake my head at this dog and pony show from both sides.  Even if there is a season this year, I am not going to any Wings games.  I usually attend 4 or 5 games at the Joe and go to Toronto if the Wings are playing there.  But not this time.  I can't stomach giving any money to either side right now.  I know neither the owners or players could care less though.
