Lebda sucks. Could skate really fast, though.

Every time Mark Mowers stepped on the ice, it was a strange moment.

How about Tie Domi fighting that drunken fan in the penalty box?

Or how about the time Gilles Gratton (the weirdest guy in hockey history) first unveiled his tiger mask.

Maybe Zenit can sign him to some monstrous contract.

#2329699 Report: NHL may cancel Winter Classic by November if no CBA deal

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 22 September 2012 - 10:32 AM

I blame everyone associated with the NHL for this debacle. Part of me wishes the league would fold, since they're stupid enough to have 2 lockouts within one decade.

#2329577 The NHL's 50 Greatest Non-North American Players

Strange rankings.

Reminded me of the greatest ever imdb film list, which has Lord of the Rings ranked above Goodfellas and Casablanca.

#2329321 Greatest Red Wing Alum of all time

Fans will obviously vote for Yzerman, because the twitter people are too young to remember Gordie Howe or what he did for the franchise and the NHL in general.

#2328593 Report: Wings close to signing Carlo Colaiacovo

If we're lucky, he might be the next Jason Woolley.

#2328034 Bruins sign Marchand to four year contract extension.

Verbeek scored 500 goals in his career. You guys are giving Marchand way too much credit comparing him to Verbeek.

As I've said before, Marchand could only exist on a team like Boston. If he played for the Wings, he'd get his ass kicked by opposing teams, with no one to protect him.

#2327824 Russia/Canada Revisit the Summit Series

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 05 September 2012 - 08:20 PM

If the refs called the series fair, Canada wouldn't have had to rely on the heroic goal from Paul Henderson to win. They likely would have won the series 6-2. Also, if all the NHLers that didn't show up would have played in the series against "the best the Russians had to offer" they would have won more convincingly. Only 1 name needed to end the Kharlamov debate....Bobby Orr.

Bobby Hull would have also made a difference.

But Canada would have had a tough time against the Soviets either way. Their team was together all year, while Canada's team needed time to gel together.

#2327508 Move Over Winter Classic

This is perfect, get all of the reasonably talented goons in the NHL and have them battle it out in a bruiser hockey game. You bring the great sport of hockey and combine it with the tradition of the gladiator arena and have 15+ fights during the course of the event.

Do fans get to put their thumbs down when they're not entertained?

Where can I buy a beer, a hot dog, and take a leak?

Typical American. :sleepy:

I don't remember that being addressed in "Gladiator", though, so it's a good question.

#2327039 Redden?

I'm expecting to see an Eric Daze thread any day now.

#2326337 New Commissioner?

I can see Shanny getting the job sometime in the future, now that he's moving up the NHL corporate ladder.
