Not my first option and one goofy looking dude.

#2182772 Changes in the offseason

Can we all at least agree that Wade Belak is a good fit here?

He can play both forward and defense (can Crosby do that?) and has that North American blonde hair and square jaw that fans at the JLA would root for.

Belak = ratings

Oh and he can be coaxed out of retirement to take one last run at the Cup (he's never won one)

#2182771 SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 05 June 2011 - 03:04 PM

Smug are the "fans" of teams that have a relatively successful history telling fans of another team how they should act when their team is being successful.

The reality is the fans have little to nothing to do with the outcome of the games, so as self assured and arrogant as many Wings fans can be they really have no reason to be that way.

Wings fans merely support a team that had the likes of Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov, Shanahan, Hull, Chelios, Larionov, Robitaille, Rafalski, Zetterburg, Datsyuk, Hasek....etc...etc...etc over the last 15 seasons.

Why not let Vancouver fans enjoy their success? It's not as though the Wings were affected by the Canucks at all this season.

As for those saying the Canucks aren't even a good SCF team or potential winner. That's ridiculous. No team, not even the Wings has finished first in GF/GA, points and PP% in the same season since the 1970s.

Sure the Canucks almost lost to Chicago, but the reality is they did not lose. One could say the Wings almost beat SJ, but that would be a pretty pointless conversation.

If I was a Wings fan I'd be happy with my team's success over the last few years but I wouldn't cut down my opponent's success in a fit of bitterness as I wouldn't see the point in being negative long after my team had wrapped up their season and hit the lynx.

Because Canucks fans act arrogant even when their team has had no success (which is all but 3 seasons in their history).

That's why other teams' fans have been afraid of this moment for a while. I can't understand why Canucks fans are surprised that other fanbases are hostile towards them. I mean I don't get surprised when people hate on the Wings.

You have to win championships before you can be arrogant. Otherwise, it just comes off as silly behavior. That's what's always annoyed me about the behavior of Nucks fans. No previous success, but still arrogant.

This is why nobody wants Vancouver to win the Cup.

They have incredibly smug fans for a franchise that has accomplished nothing in its s***ty 40 year history.

Can you imagine how these clowns will act if they actually win one? We'll never hear the end of it.

I love the Burrows hate, just like I loved all the Bertuzzi hate when he played for Vancouver, makes these wins all that much sweeter. Don't be looking too forward to next season though, Canucks will still have most of their crew for the next few years so chances are good you'll witness your nightmare all over again as the Nucks make it two in a row

Pretty arrogant talk considering how they haven't won one Cup yet in their smug and pathetic 40 year history in the NHL.

They're on their way, but it's not over yet.

That's the weakness with having a goalie like Thomas.

He's too wild and unpredictable, which occasionally causes him to do stupid things even in the most important moments.

I wanted to sit next to him back when he was dating Pamela Anderson.

Lucic's hunchback might be cured after that hit.

#2181387 I think we're going to win it all next season

That's a Cup winning lineup all right.

Hudler and Cleary on the 2nd line will most certainly put us over the top.

No.

The guy can't even grow facial hair.

#2180149 Kris Draper

A 5'5" power forward? Awesome.

5'5 enforcer more than anything else.

Didn't he go on to be a really anti-communist senator or something?

He was a cross between Sandy McCarthy and Darren Pang.

I like Draper, but he's like the relative that doesn't know when to leave the party.

I'd rather have a younger, bigger forward taking up 4th line minutes. We need to get younger as a team.

And that was not easy for me to type.

#2178781 Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

I wish this happened last season.

Then we could have pursued Lebron.

#2178304 Your all-time team?

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 22 May 2011 - 07:59 PM

You contradicted yourself by saying that you never saw certain legends play, yet you had several on your list. So why would you include Harvey and Orr but not Hull or Richard?

Mine would look like this.

Lemieux - Gretzky - Howe
Hull - Esposito - Richard
Messier - Morenz - Lafleur
Trottier - Beliveau - Yzerman

Lidstrom - Orr
Harvey - Robinson
Potvin - Shore

Roy
Hasek
