#2229885 11/25 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Bruins 2 (SO)

Great game by Howard (minus the miscue behind the net), and Dats. I thought Cleary looked good. Homer had another great game. If Mule were as fearless as Holmstrom, he'd be a 50 goal scorer.

Zetterberg alternated from looking good to being awful. He had the great assist on Flips goal, the smart play on Bertuzzi's great chance, and other good plays. Then it looked like he forgot how to handle the puck.

Wings definitely got on their heels when the Bruins stepped up the physical game, but they bent but didn't break.

Olczyk can suck it. His dislike of the Wings when commentating is palpable. So can Chara. Good on Dats for being fearless and hitting him back. I wish more Wings players followed his lead. And I wish our D men would bury guys like Chara did to Datsyuk.

Two stolen point for sure.

Actually, the commentators were blowing Lidstrom all game long, like they usually do.

And people here always complain about too much Crosby love during his games. We have our own media loved players too. You could throw Datsyuk in there as well.

Howard won this game for us.

We gave up over 40 shots and our soft Euros got handled by Boston's forwards all game long. We can't beat a team like them or San Jose over a 7 game series because of our lack of physicality and ability to handle the forecheck consistently. The turnovers were rampant today.

Bertuzzi with another sick move as usual.

Why can't he use those hands like that in regulation?

it was harder to hit the glass than hit the net there

Not for him.

Does Holmstrom hate Germans or something?

Never seen him get that angry.

Boston respects Detroit too much to try antics.

They didn't last year even though they lost both games and were handed their ass in the second.

Respect has nothing to do with it.

It's an edge they have over most teams. Nothing wrong with using it. They may even remember last year's games and use that as an example of how not to play against Detroit.

They bullied the s*** out of Vancouver last year in the Finals as well. They're the new Ducks.

I just hope we're not embarrassed in a physical way, like they did to Buffalo.

#2229349 Will Stuart re-sign?

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 24 November 2011 - 03:14 PM

Barret Jackman could be another good Stuart replacement, just realized hes a UFA

I hate that piece of garbage.

Rather have anyone on our team than him.

#2229264 Ryan Miller's opinion on Milan Lucic

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 23 November 2011 - 11:14 PM

Brad May would've killed Chara, Lucic, and Thomas all at once.

I don't think this is done. We'll probably see more.

May was a good fighter, but don't know how he'd fare against Chara.

The big idiot would have used his size advantage to outreach May and eventually go for the takedown.

I want to see Chara fight against a legit heavy, but it rarely happens, and when it does, Chara bails on the fight real quickly, in order to avoid embarrassment.

Howard not looking good tonight.

That should make the GDT longer than the last few games.

#2228854 Jiri Hudler Appreciation Thread

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 22 November 2011 - 09:32 PM

Hahaha I was expecting some sarcasm, but he seems serious. "Versatile"

You know, we may be able to trade Hudler for Iginla straight up.

This way, the Flames get a guy that could potentially be a great center or a good defenseman. Iginla is just an old fool who can only play wing.

#2228765 Jiri Hudler Appreciation Thread

Hudler has been pretty solid defensively if you would actually pay attention. He backchecks as hard as anyone, and in the Anaheim game he fought through two players to clear the puck. He's been very good on the PP, keeping the puck in the zone and setting up plays better than just about anyone the Wings have put out there. He had no chance on the Richards goal; look to Kronwall and Cleary for the issues on that play.

As for his versatility... Hudler is probably one of a handful (at most) of players on the team capable of player center, both wings, and defense. I would call that versatile.

Really?

This last part is funnier than anything the OP wrote.

#2228746 Should Commodore be waived?

No.

Unless you're playing video games and you've turned the injuries option to "off"
