So if Pittsburgh hangs on and this s***show plays out, the Wings are the first team to go home. That's what a historic home streak and enough cap space to acquire just about any contract in the league gets you.
Well played Holland, well played...
Would it be improper for Ilitch to fire Holland tomorrow? I mean literally tomorrow.
Go back and count all of the goals that were scored. How many were from turnovers in our own zone? How many were off of lack of coverage from our D? How many were because our D pinched in and got beat? How many were off of bad bounces?
None of those things are any thing Jimmy can do anything about.
Then it's the old Cujo argument. He's still getting outplayed by the other guy.
Only difference is that Cujo was making more. But then again, his numbers were better than Howard's as well.
Nashville has done nothing spectacular in this series offensively.
Only reason they can score on their chances and we can't score on ours, is that their chances are better and easier. Reason for that is the mistakes. Nashville isn't making the defensive mistakes we are. How many chances have we had in this series like that Radulov one? I can't think of many.
There's many teams in the East that can get national ratings.
However, in the West you have LA, Phoenix, St. Louis and Nashville who will likely advance. That's not good for ratings. Those teams are supplanting regular Cup contenders like Detroit, San Jose, Chicago and Vancouver. I'm not likely to watch the rest of the Western Conference playoffs with these teams advancing.
