#2163507 WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2

Hey, remember how good we all felt when Lidstrom scored the opening goal of this series?

Those were the days.

He looks like he's been impregnated by Robert Lang.

We need to start some fights here. Not going to win this game anyway.

Ericssson, Abby and Bertuzzi need to goon some s*** up. I want someone to disregard the instigator and start punchin Pavelski in the face.

these two teams aren't even in the same league.

even if detroit manages to pull off a miracle and win this game, the sharks easily take this series.

wings simply can not play with this sharks team. period.

It's because they have size and grit, and we don't.

This soft euro thing needs to end after the season. I would gut the secondary players on this team in the offseason.

We're making Niemi look like an elite goalie right now, while LA didn't. And it's because LA is a bigger and harder working team than us. Not because of skill.

Wings should just throw in the white towel.

The don't want this right now.

Eager just needs 50 year old Gary Roberts to beat his ass again.

If I see anymore of our soft euros take the puck on their backhand and try to make some pretty play, I'm going to throw up.

How about just throwing the puck on net and trying to screen the goalie? Or would that actually require some effort?

I thought Detroit played the perfect road game. They played a tight checking game and played solid defensively. Wings owned the 1st and most of the 3rd. Wings outhit the Sharks and seemed to be smart with the puck. The 'shots on goal' stat was scewed, VS announces called 12 shots on net for detroit. Then Red Wings took 3 more nice shots on Niemi, yet announcers called them with 12 shots still later in the game. Home team always screw the SOG stats. Red Wings played pretty damn good for being on the road and getting 8 days off. Detroit definitely deserved to win that game. Sharks can't even score 5-on-5. I know they got credit for 5-on-5 for the 2nd goal, but the players were exhausted and out of position.

Wings win that game 10 times out of 10 with fair and balanced officiating.

Did you watch this game.

We got owned for most of the night and played uninspired. If you call that the perfect road game, then I'm glad you're not a Florida Panthers fan.

Am I the only one who thinks Howard gave up a bad goal on that first one?

Instead of swallowing up that initial shot, he gave up an easy rebound right for Pavelski to bunt into the net.

Modano would be nice. Apparently he is a Shark killer.

And he's always been a great diver.

Just what we need.

Mursak. Team needs more Mursak. More speed and intensity.

We could all use a little Mursak in our lives.

I wonder why that is. In this particular case it was luck and a bad penalty, but Howard looked very calm, confident and collected. Could it be our forwards that get to jittery and desperate?

God enjoys giving Wings fans heart attacks in OT.

It bothers me about 10,000 times more because this is exactly how last year's series got away. Outside of the Game 3 collapse, the Wings were right with the Sharks last year and all the diving and embellishment gave San Jose every chance in the world to win the series. The fact that this series started with the same B.S. is just extremely frustrating.

And just like last year, we weren't the team scoring in the 3rd and in OT.

Winning the Cup is about overcoming adversity, and we weren't good enough to do it last year. Not good enough to do it tonight either.

They're just more clutch than the Wings right now. That needs to change.

In fact, we had our chances, but couldn't bury them like championship teams have to do. Two great chances in OT went to s***.

What a disgrace NHL officiating is.

Our effort tonight was disgraceful.

I don't want to see Abby play again in these playoffs.

Draper or Madonna take his spot next game.

We need the puck to get the breaks. Everyone needs to stop freaking out about the refs. The Sharks are selling everything and we have the luxury of slowmo replays. If we dove like the Nicks or Sharks we'd get more powerplays, but I'm glad we don't dive and win games with honor.

I agree.

The Sharks are outplaying us and the Wings have to overcome adversity. Last year, we didn't overcome it and everyone kept whining about the refs.

I don't want the same s*** to happen this season. We need to overcome this team, otherwise it's apparent that they have our number.
