It doesn't matter how good Tatar, Nyquist and Jurco are if they're buried for the likes of Cleary, Miller and Sammy. We have the pieces to be a contender but it's a matter of not having faith in management to use them properly. Jurco may not be a Wing in time to play with and learn from Dats.
Andersson with a terrible play on the 1st goal, Howard got lazy getting back into position knowing the boards are active at the Joe on the 2nd goal, then Cleary takes an idiot penalty as usual not controlling his stick and then Sammy punks out of a fight with Stalberg….brutal. Wait for the kid at the other end to get his 1st career shutout.
EA's whole system is crap. DeKeyser is still under 80 rating, Quincey is over 80, Ericsson should be better defensively for ratings, rookies are all 60 on faceoffs....the list goes on. Howard has missed a few saves he could have had, but there's certain guys that get on the ice and don't bring much to the table that's positive and are heavy minus ratings. Cleary, Quincey, Miller and Andersson should all be on cold streaks.
Although Pav's has been struggling, you cannot put him 3rd. He needs to be one of the two shootout shooters, if it doesn't get to the 3rd round, the it's a waste. He is almost 50% in the shootouts, and although he's been stopped 4 times this year hes too much of an asset to not have a chance.
Exactly. How is this even a question? We have the ALL-TIME leading shootout scorer at 40ish% and we're complaining? We have enough guys on this team to rag on, let's leave Dats alone. Dude's over a PPG, he's doing his job. If we had a reliable bottom 6, there wouldn't have been 5 straight OT/SO losses.
Tally up our bottom 6's +/- and then complain about Datsyuk in shootouts. Unreal. And +/- isn't a useless stat. Quincey is garbage and is -12. That is an accurate portrayal of how awesome he isn't. Dats had 2 goals tonight when they really counted. There's no record book for shootouts. Quit playing Miller and Cleary in OT and it won't get that far.
lol so im reading all the comments on this thread and up at the top it says there is 3 pages so i go to the third page but there is nothing and it says page 3 of 2.
i got a laugh out of that
anywho....hope wings show up tonight and get 2 points instead of just 1 like they have been getting lately.
4-2 red wings final score.
We need someone that's not Dats or Z to step up. This team is not going far if no one else will start producing.
refusing to pay money to see a team that puts nyquist in the minors so they can re-sign garbage like dan cleary means you're not a "true wings fan"?
so be it.
No. I hate Cleary and Quincey a lot. But I also talk about the good moves that I think Kenny makes. You seem to be a chronic sky is falling fan. I'm pissed that Nyquist is in GR and Cleary is dragging down our top 6, but you should maybe talk about the guys you'd like to see in the top 6. Join the conversations in a positive light. Use constructive criticism, not just pure criticism.
I think you are being a bit negative... I mean, if you're talking never ever ever seeing him again. I think it highly unlikely he will be traded.
He seems to be mired in the same situation that Tatar was in last year.
(Only a couple games of waiver exemption left/Needs and deserves to be up with the Wings/No room at the inn)
...but I think to say that we're going to see him before the playoffs (barring the aforementioned season ending injury to a current roster player or unlikely trade of some spare parts) is quite optimistic.
Patience grasshopper, the year of Nyquist is 2014.
This would be great, but it's going to take some REAL WORK by Mr. Ken Holland for that to happen.
After the trade deadline, does the roster limit not take a hike?
Real, die hard Wings fans that despite the fact that they're not as good as some hoped, still have at least something positive to say about the team they love. Not just one line posts saying how terrible you think they are with every keystroke while never saying anything good about the team you claim to be a fan of, if you truly are a Wings fan. Yet to be seen...
