Better alcohol has been discovered. Let's get RIPs***!

Just make sure when you get drunk enough, you wear your helmet…..or someone else's.  :cheesy:

#2451747 The Metropolitan Division Is Terrible

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 07 November 2013 - 08:24 PM

When all the teams in the Metro div suck ass, they will get the 1st to 5th picks in the draft for a few years and start s*** kicking the Penguins just like the Pens have been doing to them after a decade of tanking to get to where they are now.  Unless those teams draft like Edmonton

#2451615 Mantha signed to ELC

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 07 November 2013 - 02:28 PM

Maltby was a 50 goal scorer in juniors :D

As far as Mantha, I really don't see him projecting out as a power forward.  Much better chance that Martin Frk becomes the Wings' power forward of the future than Mantha.

I'm hoping Jurco can be that guy for us.

Also, did you know Maltby was a 50-goal scorer in juniors?

I think that Frk and Jurco could be a good tandem and both live up to the power forward role.  I can't wait for a Wings team that hopefully will have Nyquist, Jurco, Tatar, Mantha and Frk.  I just hope that team still has Datsyuk and Zetterberg.  Wishful thinking, but with a hopeful departure this summer for Cleary, Sammy, Tuzzi, Miller, Eaves, that leaves room for some top prospects to actually have a 1% chance of making the Wings out of camp, should they be the best player for the spot.

And Crosby was drafted number 1, There are exceptions. I am not putting Mantha down but the Q is a weaker league. At best we will see something like a Vanek or a Carter at worst a 3rd line bust. All I am saying his he wouldn't have the same numbers in the OHL. Also do you people not get he was a 94 birthdate player that missed the cut off by 1 day? he should have been drafted in 2012 and if he was its a no brainer he would be putting up numbers this good two years later. I for one have watched him play allot.

Crosby played in the Q, so did Mario Lemieux...

Griffins will continue to be fun to watch.

I may have to see if I can switch my Gamecenter to AHL Live.  The Griffins may be able to beat the Wings pretty soon. :ninja:

#2451603 Are we faking injuries/illnesses to deal with the roster crunch?

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 07 November 2013 - 01:59 PM

I think its all bulls***. If its a real injury theyd just say so. My moneys on babs sitting him for either thinking hes the s*** when he sucks (believes hes playing well) or to see how the team does without him, in the event of making sure a trade for a dman wont hurt us offensively. Just my theory.

I'm onboard with this. Maybe consipracy theory like, but consipracy's keep things interesting.  I think Franzen's pride is the only thing that is hurt, though he doesn't "have fun" in the regular season anyways, so he likely wouldn't give a rats ass if he got benched anyways.

#2451537 Chicago fans steal players helmet off head and dump beer on him

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 07 November 2013 - 08:49 AM

Apparently after the game they interviewed Pardy and he didn't know what was going on but thought it was pretty funny, as did I.  I look at it this way, if that happened to me, I'd be laughing pretty hard.  After the game, I'd sign the helmet and give it to the drunken helmet thief.

#2451479 Nyquist taking things in stride, with class

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 06 November 2013 - 08:21 PM

NHL14 is good therapy for me for this. First thing I do in GM mode is get rid of these 3 and Franzen. Feels good :)

I'm playing right now.  Considering trading Franzen to a team I hate, call up Jurco, trade Quincey to a team I hate, recall Ouellet.

Well we can put the nyquist talk to bed. @AnsarKhanMLive: Wings' GM Ken Holland said there is no chance Gustav Nyquist will be recalled from Grand Rapids for tomorrow's game.

He won't be recalled for tomorrow's game, but it's only a matter of time before Eaves is waived as well and Tuzzi wrecks his back (unfortunate, but an annual happening at this point)…  He will be a full time Wing prior to the trade deadline.  Have faith in Goose Nyquistfan!

#2451220 11/4 GDT: Red Wings 2 @ Jets 4

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 05 November 2013 - 08:51 AM

What i'd like to see come playoff time:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Bert
Alfredsson-Weiss-Franzen
Nyquist-Andersson-Tatar
Abdelkader-Helm-Tootoo/Miller

Kronner-(top line D trade acquisition)
Ericsson-Dekeyser
Lashoff-Kindl

Howard-Gustavsson

D-man trade for any variation of Quincey/Smith/Cleary/Sammy + draft pick.

To me thats a lineup capable of winning the cup.

Come playoff time:

Z-Dats-Bert

Alfredsson-Weiss-Franzen

Tatar-Helm-Nyquist

Abdelkader-Andersson-Tootoo

Eaves

DeKeyser-Kronwall

Ericsson-Smith

Kindl-Ouellet

Lashoff

Cleary, Quincey and Miller can play for GR.

#2451200 11/4 GDT: Red Wings 2 @ Jets 4

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 04 November 2013 - 11:24 PM

Notes from the game:

- Getting to see DeKeyser score his 1st career NHL goal, pretty cool.

- Quincey is a complete liability and needs to go making way for Ouellet.

- The Jets played awesome.  A complete TEAM effort that was needed and they showed what kind of hockey they are capable of playing, they just don't do it consistently.

- Cleary is beyond useless garbage.  He better not be a Wing next season or I may lose hope in the future of this organization.

- The Wings got burnt on passes along the boards constantly and the Jets turned uncontested to the net giving them tons of quality scoring chances.

-  Jimmy played great.  It could have been 8 or 9 to 2 had he not played so good.

- Darren Helm needs more ice time and we need to keep Tootoo.  Get Miller off that line, he's too slow.

- Almqvist was decent with the puck, making simple plays.  Improvements need to be made on D zone coverage for him to play at the NHL level.

- Our 2nd line is ass.  We will not make it out of the 1st round with Cleary in the top 6, maybe top 9….have I mentioned how brutal he is yet?

- Enstrom may have played Smegl in Lord of the Rings.

#2450739 Let's end the road trip in style!

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 04 November 2013 - 01:17 PM

Winnipeg eh? This should be a Riel good game.

 Nice.  I'll be at the game tonight.  Zetterberg jersey, Helm shirt underneath to show off when he scores and a Jets hat so I don't get shanked completely and to mildly support the home team that is a distant 2nd favorite team.

#2450627 11/2 GDT: Red Wings 5 at Oilers 0

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 03 November 2013 - 04:58 PM

Not that I want to be a defender of Cleary, but he did have that great stretch pass that created Helm's goal.

Didn't Helm take it from the Dman's skate?

#2450523 Philly Capitals line brawl

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 03 November 2013 - 09:10 AM

The ref that stood there and watched Holtby get punched in the back of the head repeatedly should be fired and never ref in the NHL again.  How's that for player safety?  Emery is a clown.

#2450517 11/2 GDT: Red Wings 5 at Oilers 0

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 03 November 2013 - 08:12 AM

Helm gets the game winner 5 minutes in, Tatar scores after that, Mraz gets his 1st career shutout…..and I didn't get to watch any of it cause CBC had the Habs/Avs game on and Gamecenter couldn't play the Wings/Oil game cause CBC had exclusive rights.  Assholes!  I guess I'll watch the highlights now and I sent Gamecenter a nastygram last night cause I'm still pissed.

Alfredsson makes beautiful passes and Tatar will never sit again.

#2449467 What's Killing Our Offense?

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 01 November 2013 - 12:55 PM

Could we cut a deal with the oilers? Can't really part with a D man though. Can't see it happening

Sure we can, Quincey.

We trade Quincey, Samuelsson, Eaves and Tootoo for their 4th round pick (who cares what we get).  We call up Nyquist to his rightful place, bring up Almqvist and let Sproul and Ouellet finish the year in GR ready to take the 2nd pairing next year and we bring up Glendening whenever needed as we are currently doing.  More offense needed?  Bring up Jurco for a game here and there.

When we have "insert league here" Defenseman of the Year all through our system, we surely can trade away Dmen.

#2449465 What's Killing Our Offense?

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 01 November 2013 - 12:50 PM

Our offense has always started with our blue line. That hasn't really been happening ever since we lost Rafalski and Lidstrom. Right now it's barely happening at all, and I believe that has everything to do with our crappy output. Who on our blue line is really capable of running the offense, consistently making that excellent first pass, moving the puck like a true pro? We have Kronwall and...Smith? Kindl? Ericsson has been good for us, and so has DeKeyser - but they're defensive defensemen, as is Lashoff. (Not sure what Quincey is. And yes, I mean that in a mean way.) A guy like Subban (i.e. a gifted offensive defenseman) would do wonders for our offense, IMHO.

Not that I wouldn't love a scoring winger. But I think the bigggest problem with our offense is our defense, mostly the "offensive" side of it.

Let's hope that Sproul and Ouellet don't get Nyquistatar'd in the minors and make the team asap.  Ouellet looked awesome in his 1st game and Sproul should run our PP asap as well.  If Smith doesn't get his s*** together asap, then i'l like to see the following next year:

Kronwall-DeKeyser

Sproul-Ouellet

Kindl-Ericsson

Smith/Almqvist
