#2414069 Fraser's take on Penalty Shot

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 28 May 2013 - 03:05 PM

Pav's "trip" on Toews?

Abby thrown face first into the boards by Seabrook in the 1st while on a PP?

Kindl called for interference and then later in the first a Wing was interfered with even more so with no call?

Consistency is all we ask for.

And where was Brunner's penalty shot this series when he got the corkscrew in the hands on a breakaway, or when Roszival two-handed Abdelkader's stick out of his hands on a breakaway that was pointed out in a .gif in the last GDT?  Therefore, Mr. Fraser, the call was flat outf****** wrong and by this series' standards isn't even a penalty.

#2414009 Trade Smith ASAP!

I totally agree that less experienced players like Smith are going to struggle and make a ton of mistakes. I think what people are upset about, well me anyway, is that if Ian White were playing instead of Smith we would have won the series with Chicago by now.

Ian White is a  far bigger defensive liability than Smith.  Sure Smith was 90% responsible for 2 of the goals against last night, but White would have done the same, and that's why he's not in the line-up.  At least Smith can make a breakout pass without icing the puck or turning it over, White cannot.

The officiating has been terrible all series

True, and the officiating in the NHL is a joke on the whole, but in game 6 there was a difference.  The refs chose a side.  Playing favorites didn't happen noticably until game 6, and it was a disgusting display.

Games 1-5 the team that worked harder won.  Game 6 is why to so many the NHL is not taken seriously in the realm of major sports.  The Hawks are a great team, and I've always been a fan of theirs, but the fact that they needed the refs to help them win that game is complete garbage.  If the refs will in fact "let them play" in game 7, keep it fair and make calls both ways.  The penalty shot call was garbage in a series perspective, cause if that's a penalty shot, then Abdelkader and Brunner should each have a penalty shot this series.  All we ask for is across the board consistency, and game 6 broke that.

It gives one of the best coaches in the game some time to work his magic.

Doesn't matter how much magic Babcock has if his players aren't willing to put forth the effort needed.  Hold the 1 goal lead.  You have a top 5 goalie behind you for f***'s sake.  Give the guy a hand.

Oh dude you wish. You can't handle the Zetterbeard! Leave it to the pros...

 No one else said it, so I had to.  I'd wear my Zetterberg jersey to make it extra special for him.  Now that's taking one for the team.

And go Andersson!  Our 3rd line is awesome.

Just curious - who does Hank have to sleep with to get a goal?

Me?

Jump off the bench to a puck in the feet?  f*** off already.  Hockey gods give Nyquist a breakaway coming out of the box and a 2-1 Wings lead.

If Babcock is as good as everyone around here says, he'll turn this around here this intermission. I wouldnt be surprised to see us score 3 in the 2nd.

That would certainly help my heart slow down.

#2412271 Our future Depth

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 27 May 2013 - 08:18 AM

Wow surprised so many chose DeKeyser. I heard experts saying he's about at the level of Justin Schultz, if not less than Schultz. Of course Danny is more defensively inclined and Justin is more offensively inclined.

I chose Tatar. To me he's already at about the same level as Nyquist and has a higher ceiling to grow. He's also more of a shooter and slightly more physical than goose, two things we need.

To me the top 2 should be Nyquist and Tatar hands down right now

I'd take DeKeyser over Schultz any day.  DD knows how to play D.  Shultz is another Green from Washington.  Good on offense, can't play D to save his life.

I chose DeKeyser cause I see him running our blueline for the next 15-20 years.  Nyquist will hopefully lead the offensive charge for a good portion of the next 15 years, but building from a goal out mentality, I chose DeKeyser.  I'd like Sproul and Ouellet to be right there beside him as well.

Either way, the future is bright.
