#1983585 Kirk Maltby, Atlanta Thrasher?

I know people won't like this, but I think the Wings should sign him as the 13th forward at the league minimum.

I don't understand how anyone could think this was a good season. There's no such thing as a good season unless the Wings win it all.

#1981378 Thanks for the Great Season, Detroit!

There's no such thing as a great season if the Wings don't win the cup. Terrible season.

So we're going to lose 4-3?

#1976977 Vancouver paper warns cabbies about arrival of Patrick Kane

Vancouver's taxicab community needs your support. With the Chicago Blackhawks' Patrick Kane coming to town for Games 3 and 4 of the Canucks-Blackhawks series, cabbies in the Lower Mainland are banding together and ensuring they have the proper change ready -- two dimes, in particular -- just in case it's needed. Kane and his cousin were charged with beating up a taxi driver in Buffalo in an August 2009 incident after the cabbie allegedly was unable to provide 20 cents in change for the $15 paid by Kane. It's up to us as a society to band together and keep our beaded-seat-sitting brothers and sisters safe. If you pull up next to a cab driver at a light this week, show them your solidarity by giving them a different finger for a change. A thumbs up.

I just broke my RooR bong...

Bummer... I have a German RooR from the Amsterdam Shop sitting next to me, though I haven't been using it much. I'm pretty obsessed with my other toy, the Volcano!!!

#1956910 1-16 Playoff Format

Posted by FunkedUp on 25 April 2010 - 01:40 AM

What if the NHL adopted a 1-16 playoff format? The top 16 teams, regardless of division or conference, make the playoff and are seeded accordingly. This would get rid of stupid things like division leaders automatically getting a top 3 seed. It would also reward teams who got the most points, regardless of conference. According to the scheme, this is what the 2010 brackets would look like.

1. Washington
2. San Jose
3. Chicago
4. Phoenix
5. Vancouver
6. New Jersey
7. Detroit
8. Pittsburgh
9. LA
10. Nashville
11. Buffalo
12. Colorado
13. Ottawa
14. Boston
15. St. Louis
16. Calgary

First Round Match-ups:

Washington vs. Calgary
San Jose vs. St Louis
Chicago vs. Boston
Phoenix vs. Ottawa
Vancouver vs. Colorado
New Jersey vs. Buffalo
Detroit vs. Nashville
Pittsburgh vs. LA

What do you think?

#1956807 4/24 OOT Playoff Gameday

The East is a joke? Who owns the cup? :)

Crosby beat you losers last year in your own building when it counted. Check that: The Pens won even w/o Crosby in the final stanza in your building. A little respect would be nice. All he's doing is leading the NHL in playoff scoring by 5 points.

I think you need to worry about Phoenix first before worrying about the kid who currently owns the cup and scored the OT game winner for the Olympic Gold Medal.

There has not been one person on this board that says that Crosby is a bad player. Where do you get your stuff? Where did I mention anything about Crosby? I said that the East is a weak conference, which it is, and that the better teams get to coast to the eastern finals. There is no disputing this. The west owns the east on all fronts. Congrats on beating us last year, good for you, enjoy it. This is 2010 and no one owns the cup right now. Enjoy your snooze up until the conference finals.

No one here is going to respect Crosby, because he deserves no respect. He's a cocky, whiny, little girl. Also, your little franchise almost relocated and folded a couple of years ago, and was last in attendance. I'm glad that Bettmans marketing campaign got you and all your fair-weather fans to hop on the bandwagon. Congratulations.
