#2488482 Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Posted by T.Low on 02 March 2014 - 01:29 AM

RH physical, world class Defense, elite top 6 player. Naw I don't want him

This.

The opportunities to land a player of his caliber in a trade these days is very rare. He's a quirky dude, no doubt, but he can instantly make the Wings a major contender.

Mike Ilitch Ice Arena. He deserves it.

Jarnkrok is exploding. 6 points in last 2 games. 19 points in last 15 games.

That line was dominating. The two teams were tied coming into the game. Griffs poured it on in the 2nd out shooting 17-7.

I went to the Griffins vs Abbotsford Heat game last night. Pukks was every where scoring 2goals, and Jarnkok looked real good. Almquist showed great vision and skil.

I can see why teams would want them in trade, and I'd be ok packaging them in the right deal.

I'd think Nyquist is untouchable, and it would take a big name to pry Tatar lose.

#2487842 Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi

Posted by T.Low on 28 February 2014 - 02:26 PM

Pretty much, otherwise he'd have to prove some sort of negligence or criminal intent. However, I believe the damages he's seeking involves future earnings. He's trying to make Bertuzzi and the nucks pay for the money's he would have likely earned later in his career. Of course he doesn't know how his future career would have gone so the parties will likely settle for an amount smaller than 38.

In regards to his "future earnings", Wasn't Moore a borderline 4rth liner, with a pretty unsure hockey future?

Gillis would be hanged.

They are already building the scaffold anyway. 89% of fans polled expect Canucks will not make the playoffs and most think it's Gillies fault, per Team 1040.

Trading away Weiss before he has had a chance to play uninjured for the Wings just isn't going to happen. You can keep suggesting it every couple of pages, but rational people realize we haven't seen what the guy can really do in a Wings' sweater.

Why not, especially if he can be swapped in a package with Kesler? Kesler could be a perfect fit for Pavs wing this season, and he already let it out of the bag that he wants to leave Vancouver, so Gilly may have to cut bait, and Weiss gives him a supposed solid 2C. Their contracts are tradable.

Edler has been rumored all season. While he's not the 2nd Coming, so to speak, he'd certainly add the puck moving element we've sorely missed. Quincey is certainly serviceable to Vancouver's system to satisfy the "hockey trade" portion of the equation, and sell Almquist as the next Rafalski, and those contracts are tradeable .

Throw in Andy to sweaten the deal so they can stack Sedin, Weiss, Santorelli, and Andy down the middle.

They move two guys who desperately need a change of scenery, both of whom could instantly make us contenders. And they receive quality roster players that can contribute as well as undervalued prospect AA.

It's a win/win and the contracts work.

Kesler denied asking ever asking for trade, per elliotte friedman

I heard Kesler's sound bite on the radio, but he can't admit yes to that question, especially after Luongo saga.

Ehroff has been asked where he'd like to be traded.
Bruins inquiring about Ottawas Phillips (doubt they'd trade with us)

More accurately, Erhoff was asked for a list of 8 teams that he would not go to, per Vancouvers Team 1040.

So you want top make a big move, but don't want any of the Wings best young players to be traded.

In other words, you don't really want them to make a big move.

I can understand that internal conflict.

I will say, I am no lawyer...

...we are getting close to a statue of limitations by now......

I've always wondered, do they give tours of the statue of limitations like they do the statue of liberty?

Edit: ;-)

Franzen in playoff beast mode already?

Don't peak too early now.

Or his "One Multi- goal Game and Done" routine, only time will tell. Let's hope.

Excuse me, ladies, I hate to interrupt, but have any of you seen an "injury update" thread? I could have sworn it was right here a minute ago...

Apologies to kip winger: after watching the pace of Canada US I am now more likely to buy the stated reasoning for leaving slowJumbo Joe in sunny California.

Not 100% convinced it's the right choice, but at least can see that is the philosophy.

I'm on the West Coast, so now it's finally my time to suffer game timing with 4am puck drop for the Gold Medal game. Set the coffee machine and buy donuts tonight.

Ah, the good ol' days where Scotty took the non-olympic Wings down to a mini-camp in Florida are long gone.

You mean cerveza, chips, and guac isn't going to get it done?

#2483030 2/8 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Lightning 4

Posted by T.Low on 09 February 2014 - 11:51 AM

Keeping in mind I'm out west, so were three hours behind, I m at my wife's grandmas funeral, graveside with the pastor talking giving the eulogy.

Suddenly my iPhone Red Wings app goes off signaling the start of the game with a loud , "Hey, hey, Hockeytown!"

Oops. I left the phone in my other jacket, then at the last minute, changed jackets.
