Sounds like it might be time to try Smith on wing with D and Z?

That second line could be a formidable Czeching line if I'm not mistaken. ;)

I had to double Czech the line: You may be right.

I'm really excited to see how this plays out. After a day of thinking about it, it could work really well. Helm might get a breakaway per game if he plays with D and Z

As for the 4th line debate, I agree with Krsmith. Andersson had one good year, but IMO doesn't bring enough even to warrant 4th line playing time. With his limited offensive upside, he's better suited to the 3rd line, but now we've got Sheahan. And I'd rather have Glendening on the 4th line. There's a reason he played against some of the toughest lines in the league last year. He might have stone hands, but so what? His career potential is a 4th line shut down guy, not a 20 goal scorer. Yes he needs to improve his face-offs, but he's well aware of his strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah, and Datsyuk trailing Helms breakaway! It could work.

I think helm is under utilized on the 4th line. He can haul the piano better than Abby with his incredible speed. I like that babs is trying new things and I got no problem with helm playing with Z and D. Very defensively sound and helm's speed will create a ton of space
On that note sounds fantastic on paper but very crucial to stay healthy!

That's what Babs figured when he saw that video of Helm hauling Tootoos wife on water skis..

It's not a question of keeping Jurco down for those guys, it's a philosophy of getting him used to being the go-to guy first in GR, being the main man, the one we count on day in and day out to bring the rain, to pick up the bar tab when the game is on the line-"Guys, I got it".

Once he's played that role , with that mentality, long enough in GR, it will be more possible to develop that mentality in the nhl.

what about the Nyquist-Zetterberg-Franzen line? I remember those three doing good as a unit and lazy balls actually showed a bit of drive finally.

Gives the option to try

Datsyuk Weiss Alfie

Nyquist Zetteberg Franzen

Jurco Sheahan Tatar

Miller Helm Abby

I know you wouldn't want this thread to be about you, but how you doing anyway man?  I know its been a while since you were diagnosed.

Wow, thanks for asking.

I'm doing great. I can still hold my kids, play with them in the pool, and zipline with them at Whistler.

My parents and my brothers family joined us for a week in San Diego, then all flew to our home in Washington. We just took them to Whistler where we all, including my 75 yr old mumsy, did the longest tallest zip line in North America . (The kids did the bobsled run too, along with my wife)

My 13 yr old niece is putting together a little vacation vid, check it out (the older kids are my nephew and nieces, young one is Olivia , Lilja seemed to be sleeping a lot)

AND my life long friend from growing up in Michigan did an awesome Ice Bucket Challenge vid (he's Air Force) :

#2534003 What Might Have Been: Gretzky to Detroit?

I figure if they were able to hold on to Lucky Luc, Detroit should have been able to keep Yzerman. But that still doesn't answer the question...
