Will they replace Murph with some serious eye candy? 

I like babes as much as the next guy, if not more, but I don't lke eye candy that is there for the sole purpose of being eye candy fluff.  I'd rather listen to Murph talk about the game I'm watching than listen to Eva Menendez read the script that some else wrote for her while trying to lok like she actally knows what she's talking about

I like Mickey and Murph because they are a coupe of veterans talkng hockey and don't follw the same ESPN sports guy formula.  The Wings experience is all about nostalgia, and he is an integral part of it.

Edit: The ratings are tanking because of the product on the ice:  I was dreading watching the Anaheim game all day long because I could not bear to watch them play half hearted and get destroyed by frikin Anaheim.  (Luckily, I decided to have the game on while I did other things, but you get the point).

This thread should be called "The Core"...they are kicking some record setting ass.  Hopefully, we'll show up and make a game out of it.  Anything less than our all, they'll mop the ice with us.

Sure would be sweet to beat 'em.

Luongo & Raymond for Ovechkin.  Put him on the Sedin line and watch history be made...for a season or two anyway.

Edit:  And in Vancouver, his diving won't stand out as much.

I'm a sucker for history, so I wish they'd keep it.  There's plenty of sporting venues around the world that have been around since the beginning of the last century.

Zackly!  It happens once every few games.  Mostly it's guys jumping up into the boards to soften the blow.

God I really miss when ESPN had the NHL broadcasting rights.

This is the only thing I've ever seen you post that I disagree with.  I like "...a DRIVE...".  Like the enthusiasm, especially after having to listen to Major Homers Greg Husum and John Shorty Shorthouse all the time.

I wish I could hit "ignore" on my Yamaha sound system for Olczk, though.

Mickey was right when he siad Toots knows his job and not letting Big Rig break a hand or something and risk injury in a fight.  Imagine Ericsson out for a month after that fight.

Looking at your user name and avatar and reading your text so far, I cannot expect there is anything on your blog worth reading.  Paste a paragraph or two if you want to try to hook me.

I can't stand attitudes like this. All of this is easy to say from behind a keyboard. And maybe they did, we don't know. It's just fun to judge so we're judging. Like I said it's probably just him being a stupid kid but we don't know. I just know that it's not always cut and dried and sometimes roles can reverse and actions can become justified with a little more info.

 Wrong.  There is absolutely no place in hockey for a move like that.  No place in team sport of any kind.  No justification whatsoever.   Nobody needs to know the story, because none of them end like that except the "He's af****** idiot" story. 

If you don't agree with what is going on, or if you feel you have been wronged, let them know why you will not be suiting up. 

Maybe Z hasn't gotten a goal in 5 games, but he still has 6 assists in those 5 games, nothing wrong with that. As for Marleau and Thornton, as you pointed out haven't even gotten a single point in their last 5 games, so I will still take Z over either of those goons

I agree.  While I do have a certain amount of respect for Thornton and Marleau's repsective games, a scoreless Zetterberg game usually has more impact than a scoreless Marleau or Thornton game.

How Tatar/Mrazek/Tootoo are doing?

Toots hasn't had much opportunity but he's finishing his checks hard and while I wouldn't say he's wreaking havoc in front of the net, atleast he's got a bit of a presence there.

Mrazek is quick as a cat.  Goes down and is up into position super quick like he's Jet Li or something.

I seriously don't understand how a team can look better at even strength as opposed to on a power play. 

I honestly think they relax and slow down too much on the PP.  They try to be too patient, too cerebral. They end up "waiting" for a good shot instead of moviing the puck and moving without the puck to "create" a good shot and open rebounders. 

 WIngs old PP was super fast puck movement.
