#2410972 2013 Round 2 Photoshop War: Chicago Blackhawks

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 24 May 2013 - 05:15 PM

We need a hammer and nail picture in reference to the brilliant article in the Tribune.

I found this on Google so I can't take credit for it, but I feel it accurately sums up the hammer vs nail battle this series.

#2339720 Wings give Mike Knuble a tryout

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 13 January 2013 - 09:31 AM

I seem to remember before all of the lockout nonsense reading an interview where Knuble said it would be a dream come true to get to finish his career with Detroit.. so why not at least give him a chance to prove he can do it?..

#2327485 So What's Up With Abby & Quincey?

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 01 September 2012 - 10:27 AM

I can't remember where I read it on Twitter (don't worry, not HockeeyyyyInsiderrrrr) but someone had quoted Abby as saying he expected to sign his new contract next week.

EDIT: I found the actual article from Khan where he adds it as a note

All I can think of when I read the title of this thread is this..

On a more serious note, I never cared for Robert Lang.. And I have trouble liking Mikael Samuelsson but he has a knack for scoring at the right moment which is usually enough for me to put up with him.

#2322943 Wings & Yandle twitter-rumors? Believable?

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 30 July 2012 - 08:52 AM

The only reason any of his stuff seems at all accurate is on the off chance he gets one right he relentlessly tweets about it bragging about how he was right and how he beat "main stream media" to the punch about it.. so you end up hearing about it way more when he is right.. and then when he is wrong he makes up some ridiculous story like the Wings being furious about Suter breaking that so called "verbal agreement" or Crosby being "irate" when Parise broke that same "verbal agreement" with the Pens..

Most of his stuff is generic.. he knows the Wings want a d-man and have interest in Yandle so why not put it out there as your own info, then if the trade happens he can gloat about how he had it the info weeks in advance and if no trade happens he can just say "negotiations fell apart" or some other BS..

The other thing is, if he really worked for all of these teams and has "sources" high up in seemlingly every team, there would be no way that he could keep his identity a secret..

#2319249 The biggest difference in the Nashville series

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 15 July 2012 - 09:24 AM

I think Rinne is a great goalie, but I am more inclined to think the difference in the series was defense. The odd time the Wings managed to break through the defense Rinne was able to be beat, the problem was the Nashville D wasn't allowing that to happen very often.. Most of the Wings shots ended up being blocked or taken from places that didn't have much of a chance at scoring. While on the other hand the defensive lapses that troubled the Wings all season ended up being their undoing as Nashville was able to expose them.

What if we offer Columbus all of our 2013 draft picks?! Oh.. wait, nevermind.

#2309736 Garth Snow...

That deal would have totally worked in NHL 12..

#2308018 Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 19 June 2012 - 11:07 AM

Finally, some good Red Wings news.

I think the series against Nashville proved how important Helm was to the team (Although, Im not saying having Helm back would have changed the outcome.. but it certainly wouldnt have hurt)

#2307760 Parise and Suter - how much are they really worth?

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 17 June 2012 - 07:56 PM

the big thing with Suter and Parise is not so much that they're the best players on their teams, but that they play the game right. they have that workman attitude that would fit great with the Wings and that's why they're a perfect fit for this organization. i'd rather have guys like them then Semin, Kovalchuk, Green...guys that like to be flashy but provide only that to the team. i'd rather have Parise cause he's works his ass off every shift and forchecks like a bulldog and despite his 15 points in 24 playoff games, he was one of the big reasons they were there cause his work ethic rubbed off on the rest of the guys except Kovalchuk, he's just a prima donna dbag. Suter is the calm dman we need to replace Lids back there to play big minutes with Kronner and maybe with Smith to have a strong D partner to help get him to that top tier as an NHL dman. Those 2 are exactly what the Wings need to be back on top. add in a guy like Prust and things are great for us Wings fans. I still thing Schultz and Garrison are good pickups too if Holland can wrangle up a crew and say, hey...let's win the next 5 cups. K go.

Is that you, Don Cherry?

#2295068 Legwand hides puck in game 4

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 21 April 2012 - 08:31 AM

I don't care that much that he did it, like the majority I don't think it changed much and definitely doesn't warrant any kind of suspension.. it just seemed kind of childish to me.. I mean it's one thing to get away with covering the puck but to go through that much effort to hide it is just silly, he could have just slid it under his body and when he got up the ref just would have thought he fell on it..

I also agree with BlazeYoungblood.. I'm not sure how the referees could have just given up on finding the puck.. I believe in the CBC video they showed them checking the goalies equipment.. but seriously, did they think it just disappeared?

If anyone is pissed I would think it would be whichever referee was standing behind the net watching the play.. I know if a player goes through that much effort to trick me I might just be inclined to give him a bit of a harder time next time I referee one of his games.

1000 Posts for 1000 Shots on Goal!

Seems like the best way to guarantee a win against Rinne.

#2286741 Repercussions of Weber headslam

Posted by GSBrooks13 on 15 April 2012 - 09:25 AM

I think the NHL is stuck right now trying to have it both ways. They want to eliminate headshots with suspensions, but clearly believe that teams/players should have to police the game themselves (even if they won't say it). But I don't believe you can have it both ways, if you want players to police the game then you need to get rid of the instigator rule. The Wings kind of lucked out with Weber because he manned up and knew he had to fight Bertuzzi, but if you look at the Sens game Boyle didn't want to fight Carkner and ended up getting blasted a couple of times. That brings a dangerous area in where if you want retribution, but can't get it by fighting the guy face to face then chances are you're gonna try to hurt that guy in some other way (likely with a cheapshot of your own).

I've made a few quick photoshops just for fun already.. but I think I found the one photo that needs no photoshopping to describe the Preds fanbase.
