#2619645 Wings‬ sign left wing Eric Tangradi

Call him up everytime they play Toronto and have him punch Kadri in the face repeatedly while staring directly at Babcock.

Can you imagine an unrelated Zetterberg and Holmstrom on this team down the line? Would be strange to say the least lol

#2577095 Red Wings acquire Erik Cole, conditional 3rd from Stars

If I was Erik Cole, I'd come into Detroit and get in a fight the first game I played.  If you punch someone your first game, you can be completely pedestrian the rest of your time here and everyone will still love you.  Just ask Brendan Smith.

#2541665 10/17 GDT : Red Wings 4 at Maple Leafs 1

If there are any Wings fans in the Washington, D.C. area you're more than welcome to join me and some buddies at the Ivy and Coney bar in Shaw for the game.  It's a Detroit and Chicago themed bar that serves coneys and local beer.  Half of the place is garbage.  I'll let you decide which.

#2525580 Alfie informs Wings he wants to return

Posted by marcaractac on 24 June 2014 - 09:08 PM

If people don't like my opinions, I couldn't care less. We do all have one thing in common: We want the RW's to win SC's. That simple. The fact is our record has gotten worse every year for the past 4 seasons. The answer being provided to us is: bring everyone back and expect better results. Nothing works like that.

Except this is hockey. Young players will continue to get better.  A lot of great things happened in the past 2 seasons, but all some people focus on is the growing pains. Even when the Wings won it all in 2008, that was a planned 3 year process by management to get there. Stevie retired, Shanny left. Datsyuk and Zetterberg had to learn how to win. When the team showed they were ready to win, Holland brought in the missing pieces like Stuart to make it a complete, unstoppable team. It took 3 seasons for that to happen. Now we are basically one year into a new changing of the guard. Except this team is getting younger on a much larger scale than last time. When the kids learn how to win, the moves will be made to make a complete team once again. For the time being, having guys like Alfie around is a great thing. The kids learn a lot from guys like him. He is a leader. That will rub off on the younger generation of Wings.

I get that some people find losing frustrating. The team has won for a long ass time. But there is a lot of exciting things ging on with this team if people can just take the time to appreciate it. There will be growing pains, but this team will make everyone proud once again. Some simply look at their win/loss records over the last few seasons and are quick to point out that the team is on a downslide. Not the case what so ever.

#2506104 4/4 GDT - Sabres 2 at Red Wings 3

Also, Jimmy needs to save that McBain shot. Soft as a baby's bottom.

Also, Smith needs to smarten the eff up. If Quincey can stay out of the box and be mostly quiet (in a good way) through 60, so can he. I know Mike Emrick thinks he's the s***, but Mike Emrick also thinks goalies wear waffles on their hands.

Also, winning as much as we are with Kindl and Lashoff seemingly never leaving the ice is quite impressive.

Also, negativity.

Schocked that this trade happened TODAY seeing as there were "TWOMORROWS" involved :)

I choose to believe that really he just picked the topic at random as a thinly veiled excuse to start another line combo thread.

#2344532 Red Wings sign D Kent Huskins to 1-year, $750k contract

Posted by xtrememachine1 on 22 January 2013 - 01:28 PM

Reading his scouting report it says the Huskins "gets injured a lot".  Man, does Holland get some sort of bonus everytime someone gets injured?

#2335019 Pavel Datsyuk Highlight Video

Posted by DatsyukianDekes on 30 November 2012 - 11:14 AM

This lockout is boring as hell, I was looking for an interview from the NHLPA regarding the recent talks on youtube and somehow it was linked to a Pavel Datsyuk video (hes amazing, maybe thats why). I watched the video and it was pretty badass, it's pretty amazing to see how many highlights he has compiled over the years. Anyways if your bored and want some Datsyukian fix, heres the video.

#2319033 Dominik Hasek's agent: "He will play, and he will excel"

Scott Howson needs a goalie + Scott Howson is stupid as hell = The Dominator has a new job. It's simple math really.

#2315877 Semin

Posted by b.shanafan14 on 05 July 2012 - 03:52 PM

I have faith that Datsyuk will change his attitude, if not in the long-term, at least immediately in his first few seasons, which is what we need: scoring until the defense gets fixed.

Skeptical about Semin, but with Pavel, anything is pasha-ble (get it?)

#2304371 Which Players Would You Choose

Posted by 55fan on 31 May 2012 - 03:00 PM

LW- there is no way on this earth that Parise will replace Hudler.

Upgrade, yes. Replace, no.

Ok, got in my Hudler jab for the day. Carry on.

Back to topic. I'm torn between the first and third choices.

#2303757 Nice Khan article previewing the off-season

Posted by arag on 30 May 2012 - 12:51 PM

This will not happen, but possible with salary cap increase. Kenny may pull this one out. Get Ovi via trade (Franzen, Cleary). Sign Semin. Sign a top D man. Ovi and Semin will be awesome playing with Pasha. They have been unstoppable at the worlds even by good defensive teams like Finland. I think these guys will start a new era for the Red Wings. Parise will be asking 8-9 mil/year and a long term contract. to me he is not that guy. Iam assuming that Washington is going from offensive to a shot blocking, grinding, defensive hockey and Ovi does not feet in those categories. He needs to fly out there and score goals. Wings are his kinda team. Same goes for Semin. After all this is just a wish.
