With the NHL lockout 90+ days deep, we want to give the fans a voice and an outlet to be heard during this episode. We hope it goes beyond the Wings fan base, but at minimum, we want to give the fans a voice.
There's three ways to be heard:
1.) Leave a comment on this post and we'll read it during the podcast 2.) Send an e-mail to email@example.com and we'll read on the show 3.) Call (313) 638-5000 and leave a voicemail and we'll work the audio into the podcast
Please include: Name (first only), City/State (country if outside North America) and your thoughts/feelings on the NHL lockout
Please, no profanity since we want to represent the Red Wings fan base in a positive light. All submissions need to be made by 5pm on Thursday, December 20.
I really don't see this happening in November for two key reasons.
First, the Winter Classic is one of the few things Bettman has done right; it is his baby and takes great pride in it. This is huge exposure AND money for the league. I'm not surprised the Red Wings are one of the teams pushing for an end to the lockout; they'll be hurt the most (financially) with no Winter Classic. November is too early to pull the plug.
Second, and this is pure speculation; nothing would make Bettman tingle in all the right places more than working out a deal in early December so he is able to kick off the season with the Winter Classic. I can't be the only one who is picturing gary on the mic in front of 113,000 people saying "we wanted to bring back hockey to the world's greatest fans in one of the greatest money making hockey markets city's in the world."
i know were in the sh*t! but dont go crazy and throw away 5 million for 5-6 years on a carle i would rather save the money for shea weber next season !
i would suggest maybe even giving up the 4 1st round picks and like going crazy and throwing a 110 million 12 yr deal to weber and high signing bonus but why risk it that nashville matches and we lose the chance at him next year possibly
point is i hope we dont go crazy and overpay carle as tough as our situation is
maybe take a chance on overpayed boumweester?? at least its only 2 years and he does play 20-25 minutes a game
That makes no sense. Why pay MORE for your number 2 choice, when you didn't even offer your number 1 choice that much money? I'd rather spend that money on short term deals on Doan, Semin, Carle, etc. Lets not jump off the cliff here...
With the Red Wings season over, The Red Line podcast will only produce episodes as needed. Expect one during the Stanley Cup finals, another when free-agency begins, etc. Lets hope there won't be a podcast about an NHL lockout. LetsGoWings staff would like to thank everyone behind the scenes and all of the website fans for making season one of The Red Line so successful. Finally, the show is in the process of developing some partnerships which may lead to some live show broadcasts, giveaways and more. Until next time, Go Wings!
Today was a let down for many reasons, but I believe going into the post season with the same group of forwards will result in the same playoff outcome, bounced out somewhere between the 2nd/3rd round.
Today, Monday, February 27, LetsGoWings will broadcast a live, NHL trade deadline version of The Red Line, from 7pm-8pm (EST). The show will recap the deadline and will break down each trade as well as evaluating the Red Wings heading into the playoffs. Any LGW member with a Facebook or Twitter account will be able to chat live with the hosts and other members during the show.
