Hossa ready to return to the Igloo

Jumping over to the winners does not necessarily mean 'taking the easy route'. If anything, defending champions in general have to work harder, gritter and with more passion and heart than others if they are to retain their championship. That is exactly what the Red Wings are doing....day in and day out in this series (reminder: 2-0) and have been doing through out the playoffs. I'm not sure what words are in your "book", but if Hossa is less of a man to you in your book, then it must be a First Grade (Hockey) Reader...with limited vocabulary. LET'S GO RED WINGS !! (Hossa for the Hat Trick !)

The Buzz is Gone in Hockeytown (W/ Article)

My husband and I were there in our $30 seats and here is what we got for our evening: we had a really good view (not center ice - but we didn't miss anything), enjoyed little ceasers pizza and diet coke for dinner, wore our free playoff beards, we got to see the first Red Wings goal scored in the 2009 Playoffs, octopi flying after the anthem and after the game, we chanted Oz-zie Oz-zie and Let's Go Red Wings, screamed until we were hoarse and kissed after every goal. We live 90 miles away, got home late and up early for work today. Yeah, I had to leave work an hour early, pay $15 for parking, $20 for dinner, $ 15 my souveniers, pay for the gas to Detroit and back and we are both exhausted today...but, you know what - I wouldn't have missed it for anything. I would love to go to every game, but it just isn't possible - for a myrid of reasons (time, money, etc.) but that, in no way, takes MY BUZZ from Hockeytown! Regardless of whether I'm in a seat at the Joe or watching the Wings from my living room, it's my heart that supports them, even when my wallet or clock (not enough time to do everything) can't. Oh, and from what I could see - the Joe was packed. Perhaps some expensive seats were still unsold, but, not many! This was our first playoff game and the vibe was entirely different that a regular season game. The atmosphere was electric, the intensity heightened and the reward sweeter. All I can say is, THANK YOU RED WINGS for an incredible evening. Now, come tomorrow night - it's hot wings, high def, and my sweet hubby - all in the confines of my cozy abode. GO WINGS !!!! ~Belle~

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

I was wondering what happened to that, too. It was a very convenient feature that ensured we could access the latest and hottest topics of conversation. I was also wondering about the playoff wallpaper as in years past.... Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled topic - Round 1 ! ~Belle~

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

My husband and I are going to our first ever playoff game Thursday night. I am beyond geeked !! We wouldn't have been able to go had it not been for the Tim Horton/Belle Tire $30 ticket sale. Those were the cheapest I could find so I grabbed two for Round 1 Game 1. I tried for more later but, it seems as though they are sold out. The seats aren't that bad - mostly corners and behind the goalie. We typically go to a couple of games a year. We were their Saturday for the penalty shot - ugh - that call was a joke ! The crowd even started chanting "bulllll sh!ttttt". Wings in 6 - LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!! ~Belle~

I took a hit for the team...

It's great to hear all the positive statements about Tennessee! Although I am a diehard Red Wing fan, it's always pleasant to hear good things being said about another team's state....especially when it's where I'm from ! I've been in Michigan now for going on 8 years and I am, quite simply, addicted to hockey and the Red Wings. The Preds 'rivalry' is always fun for me because my family and closest friends are back in Tennessee and we banter back and forth quite a bit. I have to say, though, that Choo-Coo-Too-Too whistle is very annoying ! The Red Wing fans are strong down there as well with the automotive area (Springhill) just outside of Nashville. I knew absolutley nothing about hockey until I moved up here and my husband (at that time fiance') explained it to me and took me to a game at The Joe - I haven't been the same since ! Y'all have spoiled me rotten with a great team and great fans ! I'm glad you made it out of Tennessee safe and sound. It's good to see that Southern Hospitality, even via a Tennessee State Trooper escort, is still in full swing! Can't wait til tomorrow night.....LET'S GO RED WINGS !! ~Belle~

    Post Everytime You Look

Ok, so I've been reading these forums for a couple of years now but just never joined. A lurker - I confess. However, now that I've become legit here I started poking around and ran across this thread. Too funny. So, I'm doing my obligatory post since I've been reading through y'alls posts. Happy Thanksgiving! ~Belle~

    Downey's double play

That was the first thing we said after his goal last night - he was sooooo pumped! It's great to see Dats get excited after his goals. On a different note, the interview he had with John Keating was interesting. Perhaps Pavel is finally coming out of his shell. Or, more likely, he's just now getting really comfortable and we finally get to see the REAL Datsyuk. Either way, he is simply awesome to watch. ~Belle~
