So eighth seed teams should just give up unless you're the LA kings? Hockey more than any other sport, all 16 teams have a real shot. Eighth seed go deep all the time and every single extra playoff game makes the young guys that much better. If Larkin played with us last year against Tampa he would be a much better player at this point despite us not making it out of the first round. You start missing the playoffs it changes the environment around the team and guys like Dats probably wouldn't have stuck around
Nowhere did I say 8th seeded teams should give up. I said Cinderellas don't win the Cup, which was refuting Bill's point. But if you wish to set your sails on his turbulent waters, enjoy the voyage.
You are gasping and reaching now. Smith is good. If the Wings dont give him monutes, another team will. We have looked like hell 5 on 5 since we took him out. I think you are the one who picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
For those wondering, I suspect this is a huge reason why Smith gets bashed more than, say, Big E. A number of posters claim "Smith is good" despite evidence and the opinion of coaches (past and present).
The truth of it is, Smith was good (in college and the AHL) but hasn't been consistently good in the NHL. To claim that he is "good" now is preposterous. The experts don't agree with you nor do facts and his body of work in the NHL.
P.S. Substitute "Jurco" for "Smith" and the message remains the same.
Anyone else ready to see a roster move involving Drew Miller?
8 GP, 1 assist, -2.
Wings 23rd on the pk with 76.7%.
Time for Athanasoou to replace Miller. Love Miller's gamer quality, but he's not helping us right now. He's a career -19, so the 8 game sample size indicative of what we are going to see going forward = nothing special.
You dislike Miller almost as much as nyquististhefuture loves 14 year old prospects.
