TERRIBLE period by the Wings. What the hell is it going to take for Babcock to GIVE PAVS A LINEMATE?>!?!? IT is really making me furious! Our best forward is unable to do anything, game in and game out, on a freakin line with Cleary, but yet Babcock STILL uses that line. By the end of this game, Pavs better have a good linemate because I am sick of it. This team will go NOWHERE unless Pavs is able to get going and that is only going to happen with a good linemate.

Once again I will state, this largely comes down to poor coaching by Mike Babcock. Why would a coach put DAN CLEARY wit Pavel Datsyk?? Cleary is not a sniper... all the goals he scores are crappy goals from bad angles or rebounds (Homer's role). Last night, Pavs had all the nice moves, but Cleary had no idea what to do while Pavs was doing his thing. Cleary is a very very good 3rd line player, but nothing more. IF we want to continue to see success, Mike Babcock has got to put a guy that can score goals on a line with Pavs.

Once again Babcock has Pavs stuck with Cleary at practice today. I think this is a BIG MISTAKE by Babs because it provides Pavs with NOTHING to work with. Hudler deserves to be up with Pavs more than Cleary does right now and more importantly Hudler actually has a good ability to shoot the puck. Having Cleary with Pavs is simply a waste of time. Cleary belongs on the 3rd line and 2nd line if injuries occur.

Homer is not lazy, and neither is Cleary. The problem is that, while Cleary does still try very hard, he is not working out with Pavs. Pavs is the most talented player on our team, so he should have a guy to pass to that can shoot the puck and score goals. Cleary is NOT THAT GUY.

I never said anything about Zetterberg playing with Datsyuk... actually they are my favorite line along with Homer. But i just stated Pavs also had a superstar named Hossa to play with in 2009 also, as the one poster said Pavs has only had Zetterberg.

As for Cleary, yes I am obsessed with it because it drives me nuts. Sure, he scored a goal tonight, but besides that he gave the puck away at least 5 times tonight on the powerplays alone, he continues to lose almost every puck battle and, quite frankly, he just is not cutting it on that line. I think Huds has worked harder all season so far than Cleary, and he should have earned the chance to play with Pavs.

... Hossa in 09? But I agree he should have a goal scorer to play with notf****** Dan Cleary.

Hard headed Babcock refuses to take Cleary off of pavs' line. That is the problem. I have been preaching it all season. Right now Babs is playing Cleary and Homer with Pavs? What the hell kind of a line is that? IMO this is a TERRIBLE coaching decision by Babs because it gives no one that can score to Pavs to pass to. Cleary has been useless all season, and I want him scratched for a few games. I think Babs should try Hudler up there with Pavs and Homer as Hudler can shoot the puck and actually win battles for the puck.

Cleary was not better. He gave the puck away at least 3 times in the offensive zone. There was one instance where his head was down and he literally just passed right to one of the Wild players. I still think he should be sitting, not Huds. Other than that, the Wings had a great period. The top line looks great, the team D looks much better, and the passing is better. I do not like the 2nd line at all though... it just isn't working. I would move Fil up to center that line with Nyquist and Franzen as the wingers.

indeed this is a greaet greaet job by Kenny. Now only if we could get rid of that Ericson contract...

Well, those odd man rushes pretty much all came when Kronners and Stu were on the ice. Quite frankly, I have been a little disappointed with Kronners so far this season. I think Babs has too because all of a sudden Lidstrom is back to playing about 26 minutes a game, which I like to see because honestly he looks like he did 5 years ago when he is out there. Anywyas, Kronners and Stu defs have to pick their game up or else Babs should scratch Stu for a game to set an example.

Cuz its pretty evident to a lot of fans, yet kenny does not recognize the need for change. He has dressed pretty much the same team the past 2 years and this year, and wouldn't you know, we still have trouble winning against the sharks. We are right there with them, but they end up winning. We need a minor change to better them.

Seriously guys, can we agree that Kenny needs to make some sort of move by the deadline if we are to beat the sharks in a 7 game series? I mean it is pretty evident that we need help beyond just 13, 40 and 5. What do you think the best options would be?

Homer is not an every other game player. And Babcock's philosophy is off this season so far. He needs to make better decisions with his lines. A couple years ago, Cleary getting 0 points in 6 games with PAvs nad Z, playing as bad as he has been, would not STILL be on that line. Homer played a great game tonight, and when he was out there with Pavs and Z tonight, they were all dominant every shift. IMO, starting tomorrow night, Homer should be on that line, and I would not mind to see cleary be a healthy scratch tomorrow night. He is a great player, but maybe he needs a game to clear his head.

I swear to god Babcock better take Cleary off the top line. I don't care if its back to back night tomorrow night, Homer better play because he had a great game tonight when with Pavs and Z. Cleary was garbage. He does not have a point in 6 games playing with Pavs and Z and does not deserve it. Homer finds ways to get to lose pucks, which he did multiple times tonight, and give the puck to his linemates. All in all, besides that, the game was frustrating to watch because we deserved to win it. We had a goal called off again, and again that was the turning point of the game and costed us.

Babcock should have just kept the Big guys out there the entire powerplay. Obviously the 2nd line did not come to play tonight, so they should not be given powerplay time. Keep Pavs and Hank out there.
